I disliked old Trek because its boring. I love NuTrek. Makes sense as the pacing, action, and formula is much different. You love old Trek and prefer it whereas I love the parallel universe a lot more than you do.

The core of Superman's character, an individual who despite having supernatural powers doesn't abuse them like the average man would, but takes the moral high ground to protect people, is the core of pretty much every superhero story ever. Superman pretty much launched the superhero genre as we know it, and his "core" is the standard archetype for any superhero. So I'm not sure what Quan is saying here.....

The answer is simple.

Superman is a DC.

Used to be one of those who we're 'meh' to Superman for the reasons I mentioned. It wasn't until watching All-Star, Vs the Elite and Public Enemies that I grew to appreciate what his character is really about.
