Yup.
The concept of falling in love, being in a long term relationship & raising a child together is downright creepy to you.Okaaaay.
Originally posted by Esau CairnI didn't say all I said most people have a problem with a 37 year old man and a 17 year old girl.
SMHThose "most people" included her family, my family, our neighbours, the staff at the hospital my son was born at. The various teachers my son's had. Our friends...
Hmmm they're all fine with it.So exactly which "most people" am I having trouble dealing with?
LOL
You?
To be fair, I did ask my wife about it and she thinks it's a little creepy and she's a hardcore feminist liberal American (to be fair, she's earned her independent feminist outlook).
Not trying to hate on your relationship, man. More power and all that. I believe age is just a number, after all (although I prefer women around my age but for completely unrelated reason). But quan would have a point if he's trying to say that strangers would find it a bit creepy.
It's a cultural thing, tho. And it might be far different over then in Aussie-land. Again, no offense.
I'll see my way out....
Oh I take no offence at all.
The only information I've ever shared with Quan is the 20 year age difference & yes, the fact that she was 17 & 1/2...6 months shy of legally being considered an adult, when I met her.
Quan keeps rounding it down to 17 because facts allude him.
These are the only 2 facts I've ever shared.
But it's all not as black & white & yes, there's more to the story of how we met.
Maybe if Quan asks nicely, I'll gladly share some more details.
Originally posted by Esau Cairn17.5 is still 17 years old according to the law. She isn't an adult yet. It wasn't like it was the day before either. The respectable thing to do would have been wait until her 18th to start the physical part. If there was a 20 year age gap and she were 20 it would be ok since she was an adult. Age matters in terms of what we deem an adult. I mean by your logic if someone is 14 dating a 29 year old you're ok with that because age is just a number. It's only 15 years and not 20 according to Esau.

By my logic?
17.5 is still 17 according to the law?
So if I was caught speeding I could argue by rounding down my speed?
If I shot 17 adults & one child, I could argue in my defence that the child doesn't count?
That's your logic. Not mine.
And yes, a 29 yr old dating a 14 yr old is wrong & unhealthy.
But that's not what we're arguing about is it?
Come on Quan, how about asking me for a bit more facts?
Originally posted by Esau CairnUntil you are 18 you aren't considered an adult. Period. You're an idiot. I'm not some 17 year old dipshit that you fooled into having a relationship with. 17.8 is still considered 17 and not an adult until that magical day of your birth you idiot.
LOL

Ask someone how old they are and see if they give you a whole number. If they say 25.8 instead of 25 years old then you'd have a point you idiotic caveman. I bet they say 25. Wanna take a poll ?
Just to add. I looked it up, age of consent in Australia IS 16 years old.

Anyway, I'll see my way out. Carry on, gentlemen.
