Elizabeth Bathory just bathed in blood. Bathing in blood doesn´t make someone a vampire. I would say she was more a serial killer than a vampire.
But I think there is a original place from where that myth came from. I don´t think vampires exist, but it was supposed to mean other thing. I remember that I read that it could have originated from something in the Sumerian mythology.
There is also a interpretation of vampires in mysticism, but it is completely different not the paranormal kind of thing.
Vampires are bullshit.
Psy vampires and various other dumb asses who tap into the 'vampire' cult scene deserve the punishment reserved for usage by their idol.
Namely impalement.
Vampires are the most OVERUSED thing in existence , only two things have gotten them right. Hellsing (which displays them as monsters , which realistically they would be) and Pratchett (who satirizes there entire concept). Note the two things which i just stated are works of FICTION, like ALL vampires.

In Haiti, they call them loup garou, from the french, the french had myths of werewolfs and vamps, those things sometimes have origin in Egypt, as vamps comes from either Egypt or Sumer (Babylon, aka Iraq).
Although it was an ok movie, watch Blood and Chocolate, if you want to watch a recent movie on vamps/werewolf, oh, i guess if you thought someone was REALLY a vamp, i guess you can get them to take collodial silver (i think u can buy it at a health food store and just tell'm to talk to a doctor or pharm before ingesting stuff like that)...
