What do you appreciate more in a film?

An exceptional Director can make a meager actor seem brilliant, so...,exceptional directing.

true.thats a good point.A great actor can also overcome a horrible director as well though as long as they have a good script. so for me,its brilliant acting.

For me it depends on the type of film

brilliant acting as long as they make you feel where ther coming from it can make a crappy movie that much better

Well both is needed but if i had to pick one i would say directing cause a great director can make an actor act better.

I appreciate story telling the most. The visuals are also a big plus for me. When you get a director and actor in the same page you pretty much got a great formula.

So both would be for me.
