Should I get the standard Arkham Asylum for 29.99 or the GOTY edition for 49.99?

Uhhhh, the 3D gimmick isn't worth the extra cash. You can play as Joker just fine in the regular edition.

How is this? I thought the Joker gameplay feature was associated strictly with this GOTY package. Not only this but the 4 extra maps and the 3-D.

To be fair, most have said that the 3-D doesn't suck, just that it's very subtle.

No, the Joker gameplay has been around for while. I bought the game when it first came out and abit after, the Joker DLC hit. The 4 extra maps may be a GOTY only thing, along with the 3D of course. Never said the 3D sucked, it just didn't seem worth the extra cash when Arkham City is right around the corner. I tried the 3D, and it was alright, though I really don't like playing games with stuff on my face. So, it is up to you, great game though.

Well I think you can download the maps for money. And the Joker gameplay is downloadable as well? Didn't know this.

Just get the standard edition. It's really the better deal.

Yes, that I'm sure of. Also, I'm sure you're aware, but when you play as the Joker, you can be him in a few challenge maps only. Some people thought you can play as him throughout the entire game. I thought it was worth downloading the Joker DLC for free, but if it would've cost money, I would have been kinda bummed.

And while I definately plan on getting Arkham City, it's not right around the corner. Doesn't it come out in late August of 2011. That's like a year from now. So that's not a concern.

I was under the impression that you could download the extra 4 maps. But, whether for charge or free I don't know. I wouldn't be suprised if the Joker levels are those 4 maps.

I"m not sure, check the PSN dude. Even if you don't have the game yet, go to disc-based add-ons and see what they have up for free.

Haha, Aug. 2011 is around the corner for me, it isn't really a long wait considering some rad games are comin' out before that. So, dunno bout you guys, but I'm gonna save up some cash for a collectors edition, here's hoping it isn't lame like the first's.

What came with the first in the collectors edition?

Most notably a life sized Batarang that's stuck to a display stand. What's the point of a Batarang if it can't be thrown or hung on the wall? I mean, it was alright, but to me iit could've been a tad better, haha.

Heck yes. So many possibilities, taken away by the stand. I really wanted to try the: "Thrown Batarang at guy coming down dark stairs while carrying boxes!!"

Got the regular PS3 edition for like $30 at GameStop. Thing is rediculous!
