I see Rob Zombie is actually going to direct Halloween II afterall?
He will be making another Halloween.
I still haven't seen the first one, and I plan on not too. From what I hear, Myers is too human, and the childhood story doesn't correspond with the original.
edit:
I can't believe they are remaking 'Let the Right One In'.
It just came out!
By the way, great Swedish film. Loved it.
Yep, well last time I read about the remake he was.
They Live remake:
Universal Pictures and Strike Entertainment are in negotiations to acquire the film rights to John Carpenter's 1988 cult feature THEY LIVE. The original sci-fi satire followed a construction worker (Roddy Piper) who discovers sunglasses that let him see aliens walking among us and controlling humanity.
Though there's some notable scenes, particular the film's hilarious final moment where the alien threat is revealed to humanity, it's mostly remembered for its brutal one-on-one fight scene between Piper and Keith David that goes on for five-and-a-half minutes. The film was a commercial flop but has since gained a strong cult following and critical appreciation. No writer is yet set for the remake.
Marc Abraham and Eric Newman will produce while Shep Gordon and Carpenter will serve as executive producers. The deal also includes rights to two other Carpenter cult films - PRINCE OF DARKNESS and VILLAGE OF THE DAMNED - while Strike is also in development of a remake of his signature science-fiction work - 1982's THE THING.
Halloween II:
Rob Zombie will script and direct a sequel to his HALLOWEEN remake for Dimension Films. Titled H2, the movie will be out in time for Halloween 2009. Like 1981's HALLOWEEN II, Zombie’s follow-up will pick up directly where its predecessor left off, focusing once again on Laurie Strode after her brother Michael Myers’ killing spree. Other than that, Zombie promises, the two features will be nothing like. His main concern now is getting the screenplay ready to shoot by next March. “We’ll be hauling ass,” he tells the trade, “and that’s the problem making a movie called HALLOWEEN: If you come out November 1 or after, nobody cares. If it was called anything else, I’d be fine.” He adds, regarding his change of mind about the project: “I was so burned out. [But] I took a long break, made a record and I got excited again.” Malek Akkad and Andy Gould will produce; there’s no word yet on whether Tyler Mane and Scout Taylor-Compton will reprise their Michael and Laurie roles. This announcement means that Zombie will be putting his biker epic TYRANNOSAURUS REX on the back burner till at least late next year.
Oh well, another crap movie.
Also, The Crow is getting a more realistic remake, and Blade is apparently getting a remake too...

Got another remake for the list, Re-Animator
Producers Developing Re-Animator Remake
Source😖hockTillYouDrop.com February 28, 2009The good doctor Herbert West has defied death before and now he's looking to make a comeback. Not in a sequel, however, but in a remake. (C'mon, don't act surprised.)
ShockTillYouDrop.com has learned producer Ray Haboush is developing a remake of Stuart Gordon's Re-Animator. Haboush operates Automatic Media and is the owner of Halcyon International Pictures. He'll be shepherding the project with Brian Yuzna, producer of the original '85 and director of Bride of Re-Animator and Beyond Re-Animator.
There have been talks in the past of a House of Re-Animator and a television series. None of which have come to fruition.
Haboush and Yuzna are looking to do the remake in 3-D. And since it's so early in the game, there's no word as to whether Combs would return to reprise his role, or if they'll find someone new to slip into Herbert West's lab coat.
Hellraiser:
French director Pascal Laugier (MARTYRS) says his upcoming HELLRAISER will not be a remake but a 'reboot' according to an interview with FilmsActu. Mixing elements from both the first film and Clive Barker's original "The Hellbound Heart" novella, both the characters of Frank and Julia will be present. The first draft of the script, written in French, is finished and is being translated in English. Laugier, who admits he turned down an offer to direct THE STRANGERS sequel.
