3D Horror

What are your thoughts on 3D horror movies? Some ones that have been out are Amityville 3-D, Jaws 3-D, Friday the 13th 3-D, Night of the Living Dead 3D. And some more are due out soon like Piranha 3D and Final Destination 4 3D. I like 3D, I reckon it puts you in the film more than a normal movie.

MMMMHHHHHHMMMM.
Kaaaay.
I get your point, About it getting the feel that it puts you IN the movie.

But really, I think 3-D ruins the actual movie.
Makes it childish.
Just my thoughts.

Not being rude to you Deathbycorn, but I couldn't care less for 3D effect movies except in a theme park ride. I can't stand it, I just want to watch a film normally thank you.

You mean where you have to wear those special glasses right and it looks like the stuff on the screen is coming towards you? that type of 3D.

Of course that type of 3D! No skin off my nose!

I love it! How can't you like Jaws coming out of your TV and nearly taking your head off!

Because Jaws 3 sucked ass.

If you say so. You obviously don't like cheese.

Final Destination 3 was originally filmed using the 3D method, thats why all the kills are stuff flying at the screen etc, but they changed their minds at the last minute.

Hey thanks for that info papabeard, FD3 has some decent deaths in it. Not a bad film. The 2nd is the best Final Destination though.

Talking of Final Destination, the fourth one is going to be 3D. I agree with the second one as the best Final Destination film.

Yeah I said that in the first post!

That was mainly why I started this thread cause Piranha and FD4 are coming out in 3D.

Ah I didn't read all the 3D movies part.

I once saw some 3-D horror sci-fi movie at disney world. I couldn't have been older than five, but i remember hating that movie.

I like the 3-d imax movie's that are filmed using 70mm (imax formatted) film. I suppose, if some insane studio felt like producing a full length horror movie on 70mm film to be shown in 3-d. I would go see it. However, i can't even tolerate dogshit, 35mm movie's blown up to fit an imax screen. 3-D blood splatter would be orgasm inducing though.

I think Event Horizon was originally going to be filmed in 3D as well.

Watch it and tell me otherwise. Heaps of shit comes towards the screen like it is supposed to come out if you were wearing 3D glasses.

haha, i could see that, but by that logic, one could assume that ridley scott movies are all filmed to be in 3-d. I love me some Ridley Scott, one of the best visionaries around, but what is up with him and particles? He always has some kind of snow, rain or pollen effect going on in certain foreground and background shots.

Re: 3-D Movies

Not a real fan of the 3-D experience.

My Bloody Valentine 3D remake:

Jamie King, the star of the upcoming remake was interviewed by MTV; “Normal HD is 2000 [pixels], [“MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3-D”] is shot at 4000, and it’s done with 3D, so it’s not like random things flying at you. It’s literally the whole thing…you’re in the movie,” explained King. “Lionsgate’s doing a great job of being involved with these films that are really taking it to the next level, so I’m really excited about that.” King will be playing the aforementioned Palmer — who’s involved in a bizarre love triangle between her husband and a jealous ex-boyfriend, and the story revolves around a series of murders which took place during Valentines Day ten years prior. “It’s just the mystery around all of that,” said King. “But it’s really cool — it’s not just your normal gore, horror film. It’s very character-oriented.”

Put it in here since it's a 3D film.

I'll be watching that, the original isn't that good IMO, so I'll see the 3D remake. That Jamie King was pretty good in They Wait too.

I just made some 3D glasses cause I got copies of Friday the 13th 3-D and Jaws 3-D to watch, they were ripped from Japanese VHD discs. They should look fairly good on my HD telly.

I hope when these new 3D films get released on DVD after their 3D cinema runs, that they get released as 3D DVD's with pairs of 3D glasses. Then maybe companies will think about releasing the old 80's 3D movies on DVD.

I didn't think much of the original either.

PIRANHA 3-D

The principal photography start date on Alexandre Aja's film has been pushed back to March/April of 2009. That's a big change from the fall start Aja has talked about in the past. The delay was the size of the project and the prep work needed to execute Aja's 3-D visuals. "There just wasn't enough time for pre-production to get it done in time," says one insider. "It's all about pre-production and trying to make it the best it can be."

A trailer is out for My Bloody Valentine 3D. Ooooh, I can't wait to see this!

That didn't work for me, so had to find it somewhere else.

It looks more interesting than the original for me, didn't think much of the original.
