It's not really inconsistent when your example of him "being incapable" of phasing or shape-shifting out of it is really just an example of her catching him completely off guard and throwing it over him for like three seconds while he was going, "WTF?"

It can go either way, it all depends who strikes first and how efficently they're figting. However, the martian tends to loose more often than not.

I think a bloodlusted and serious MM would take her, it would be clsoe but I think he woule eventuall get the 6/5 over her...hes a scary dude when he wants to be.

I've never seen the martian blood lusted, so I'm not sure what he's capable of doing. If you could direct me to a scan it would be helpful. 🙂
But, i've seen Diana do well against a doomsday clone, superman (omac project), konvict (trinity) etc..... As i said before, it all comes down to the first blow, because they know what each other is capable of doing. They will have to use the best of their abilities. A mixture of strength, speed, telepathy, intangibality etc..... I'm incline to say Diana is stronger and faster the the martian, but the martian is far more versatile. They both have the power to take each other out. imo

J'onn jobs to a ridiculous degree. It's unclear if it's PIS or CIS most times...

Assuming it's the former - something we discount on the forum, J'onn takes the win.

Assuming it's the latter - something we take into account on the forum, it'll be a much closer fight. Maybe a slight edge in one direction or the other.

J'onn is a bad case of CIS half the time.

The very thing that makes him such a powerful character for versus matches is also what causes him to lose so often in comics.

A writer takes one look at MM's powerset and thinks, "Hey, if the villain beats a hero this powerful, readers will know I mean business!"

The only problem is that every writer has the same idea, so instead of his defeats being "holy shit!" moments, he just comes off as a jobber.
