Well at least he'll be more appropriate in that series with age level it seemed to be aimed at, judging by the insipid big 'cutesy cutesy' Pixarish 'Toy Story' approach of feature release..
In fact he looks comparitively dark and edgey. (like the Terminator or something) next to the stupid, stupid, babyish battledroids in the movie.
Well he kid of did in Clones by revealing the purpose of his general idiocy:
Only a complete idiot would have given Palpatine the emergency powers that set him up as emporer.
And at least his prescence in II & III were minimized.
(Though we had to wait 'til the Robot Chicken SW special to see him killed 😛 )
Ergo Jar-Jar is a gritty Scorsese/Coppola-directed picture of neccessity and cool, next to Mutt in Indy IV and the battle droids in ROTS and the clone wars .
Hah!
I don't believe it!!
They've really turned Clone Wars around...
Sure, Anakin's Padawan's insistance on calling R2 "Artooey" annoys and sure Anakin's voice/personality is a bit generic still, but dammit, they've really toned down the worst elements in the movie release, and started playing to SW's strengths in the series.
From the episode where the debris field/Plo Koon stuff happened, it was quality, quality, quality. Y-Wings for ferk's sake.......!!!!!!!!!!!
More serious-acting badass droids...!! Grevious...!!!!
This is all starting to seriously outweigh the gripes...
And thats the way it should be. Things are very rarely perfect, and thats accepted, but as long as the good shines through the shite, then I'll be tuning in next week.
There is hope after all........!!!!!!
(Indy IV still sucks royally though. 😛 )
I thought the pace and direction/quality of story had picked up really in the last few episodes.. if anything is medocre about it, its still the portrayal of Anakin.
Its no ESB but its scoring way better than it started to at the beginning.
The kinda comeback that Roy Jones jnr can only now envy...!
(Theres no Jar Jar as yet either, increasing its coolness tenfold..... 😛 )
