People might be "disgusted" by them, but that merely demonstrates the zealotry that they have for Obama. If the words came out of his mouth, they'd be lapping them up like a bit of spilled ambrosia.

It goes both ways, can you imagine the outrage from the Right, if Obama had an pregnant, unwed teen daughter, there would be endless rants of how he doesn't have proper "family values". What if Obama had cheated on his first wife and had a long drawn-out affair before marrying his current wife?

Let's not pretend that Obama is popular for any reason other than his ideas and abilities. Being disgusted by Palin's comments doesn't reveal some inner zeal for Obama, it reveals they're disgusted by what she says. Ex, the fact that you know they're mental turds and defend them by using an Obama comparison doesn't exactly clear you of any fanatical perspective on this election. This woman is a joke and I'm so often astounded by the fanatacism people accuse democrats of entertaining simply because they can't admit this woman is a pinhead and very revealing of John McCain's thought process.

And the whole point is that Obama isn't saying this dumb shit. So, don't use that cop out. He doesn't say things like Palin says, that's why no one is making him out to be an idiot.

There was until the Presidential debates, much talk of how he was a bungling moron who couldn't utter a coherent syllable without his much needed teleprompter. Low and behold, he comes out and speaks eloquently, like a professional debate (aka lawyer) is supposed to.

Palin continues being a bit of a ****.

She's just following McCain's example.

Remember:

"I don't support Roe vs. Wade."

"I support Roe vs. Wade."

McCain obviously has more experience and knows what he's doing, so why wouldn't she learn from McCain?

or, she realized that, of all the lies she has spewed, calling herself a feminist is the most obviously incorrect one.

wink a couple of more times, I bet that is empowering to women.

Palin is a good choice. She's inexperienced, but she appeals to women (countering the McCain "old guy" thing). Biden was boring in the debate. Palin scored points--after all, it's her statements about "hockey moms" and "Joe Sixpacks" that are stuck in peoples' heads.

There have been numerous polls that have shown that Palin is doing more damage to McCain than she is helping.

She doesn't actually help with women, Obama is winning women by a margin larger than either Kerry or Gore won women. In fact, women more than men have a negative feeling towards Palin for whatever reason.

The only people she's energizing these days are the conservatives, who were going to vote for McCain anyways. She's damaging him with independents and she has zero appeal with democrats.

You're so full of shit that it hurts. The reason that Obama is popular? He's charismatic. He's a good-looking guy. He's not Republican.

Those are the main factors that give Obama popularity, especially with the idiot college students who have been suckled off the teat of the f*cktard media whores for the past eight years.

Anyone who is "disgusted by Palin's comments" because she uses the term "Joe Sixpack" is retarded and looking for an excuse to hate her. Go back to the Huffington Post.

If you haven't noticed, McCain is a "popular" guy too, he's a "maverick", he's a war-hero, he's not a liberal.

This is going to be a close election.

You are both forgetting one major factor of his popularity.

His "blackness".

As much as people(democrats, African Americans, and Obama fanatics) may not want to admit or focus on, his half blackness is a major factor of his popularity. It is only one of about four major factors, though. Subtract his blackness and I highly doubt he would have beaten Hilary, seriously. He can keep his smart brain, "charismatic" speaking, intelligent foreign policy, etc, but take away his blackness, and we wouldn't be where we are today.

There's something psychological going on with voters when it comes to Obama. He IS electable based on his campaign platforms. But something about him being black AND electable has got people excited over him. Hell, I'm quite excited myself that we will have the first black man in the oval office. I was the one in my government class, back in the late 90s, that said the first black president would have to be abnormally smart, talk and dress like a rich white guy, and be significantly better than his opponent. I was/am pretty much right on all accounts.

I abhor racism and this is one way I get to say "**** you, racist ***holes" to the racists. (Sadly, I know more racists than I'd like.)

So, yeah, his blackness helps too. In DK's word, "let's not pretend Obama is in his position for [only]... his ideas and abilities."

I always thought people disliked Palin because she's stupid. Not because of Joe Sixpack.

Stupid is a bit harsh and unfair, imo. Ignorant, is far more fitting of her, and yes, she's been scrutinized for being 'dumb' long before those comments.

Why is it harsh? She is stupid. She doesn't know things and has no desire to learn, all while being confident despite her own ignorance. That confidence is what causes her to go into the realm of stupidity, in my view.

Stupid, ignorant, idiotic, pick one. All fair, all work, all accurate, I feel.

That whole court case thing is a good example of her stupidity.
