Guardian/Vindicator: Respect Thread [Remastered]

Introduction

Here is the collection of the longtime leader of the Canadian team Alpha Flight. To date there have been four different characters that have donned the armor and took up the name Guardian, through out their history their names have changed but the character remains the same. However, there has been imposters such as Delphine Courtney, who went by the name Dark Guardian

James Hudson was the first to don the completed Guardian armor, but before he was called Guardian he first went by Weapon Alpha, proceeded to Vindicator, then to Guardian back to Vindicator and finally to Guardian. James was altered into a cybernetic being that was meant to take on Galactus.

Heather Hudson, James’ wife donned the armor after James “apparent” death taking up the name Vindicator, then to Guardian and finally to Vindicator with the return of James. She took up the mantle of leader of Alpha Flight the longest of the trio, but traded in her Electromagnetic suit for a geo-thermal one instead.

James Hudson is a clone of the original James Hudson, but had the body of a 19 year old. His codename first was Guardian and then when the original James returned he renamed himself Vindicator. Currently the clone died during a battle against A.I.M

Finally, the mutant Michael Pointer has donned the Guardian suit after he became the Collective, by harnessing all the powers the mutants lost on M-Day. He even was responsible for killing Alpha Flight, which included James & Heather Hudson.

All-New Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A to Z #05
Decent bio, except several errors in the bio itself. They also didn't mention all of his abilities, listed HERE!. Also to note, it was the real Mac against the Collective and seemingly perished. Which means the temporal clone is still around somewhere else and Mac might not be dead. I highly disagree with most of the rankings as if he can manipulate the entire E-M spectrum why is his rating so low? If he has a computer mind, why is he just gifted intelligence? Why is his durability so low when he is bulletproof. Bah! Feats state otherwise with what they say. Mac's a cyborg, he doesn't wear an E-M suit, he literally is the E-M suit as stated in vol.1. Here’s a very detailed and lengthy bio for James which covered a great deal of his history. It’s not a bad entry, and covers everything up to his “death” in Alpha Flight #12

Garbage entry, first off as stated when Mac becomes a cyborg his intelligence and reaction time skyrocket since he has a computer for a mind. Also he was a genius before he became a cyborg, not normal intelligence. Another thing is he doesn't have poor hand-to-hand, he has been trained by Puck, Wolverine and Department H. Alpha Flight #4 (Vol.1)
Mac (classic) with his suit, can use his cybernetic circuitry to tap into the internal systems of many computer systems, even an alien ship. He hacked into the Plodex ship and gained information from it. While the cybernetic link was established, Guardian was able to continue to multitask on other operations, even noticing areas being blacked out, after he and Northstar started to destroy the ship. Many years later The Avengers with Iron Man tried to do the same thing but it took them a lot more work and they didn't fully understand how the ship worked.

Marvel Two-In-One #84 [Vol.1]
Battling the would-be God, Ranark the Ravanger, Vindicator (classic James) is forced to activate his suits ability to suspend his positioning to the Earth while it literally turned under him, allowing him to travel West at high speed depending on his latitude positioning. With this "shunt" Mac reaches up 18.5 miles per second. Escape velocity [mach 32.7] is 7 miles per second.

Here is the history of Mac of what happened to him during Alpha Flight #12, when everyone thought he died. Alpha Flight #12 (vol.3)
After Flashback approached Alpha Flight to help prevent his death, they needed to go back in time to prevent Flashback from joining Omega Flight as well as the "death" of Guardian. Most of the new members of Alpha Flight get sent back in time by Nemesis sword, but doing so kills you in the process. So most of the members who did adjust the timeline made it worse, such as having Canada nuked, and the world destroyed by an army of Box robots. Well Nemesis goes back in time using her own sword and kills Heather to prevent Heather from disturbing Mac. Well since Heather was gone, Mac decided to take over the world. Eventually all the current members of Alpha Flight that were sent into the past finally catch up looking much older. The last panel is Sasquatch stabbing himself with Nemesis' sword in order to go to the past, and get Shaman to fix everything.

After Hydra acquires the patent from Guardian's old technology such as the Groundhog suit. They use it to battle the X-Men, and win. So being captured Professor X pleads to Alpha Flight to recover them. Mac feels responsible since it was his technology that captured them so he and Alpha Flight go on a mission to save the X-Men.

Alpha Flight #12 (Vol.1):
The fight the changed Alpha Flight forever. This is the battle where Mac "dies", but really activates a black hole and teleports himself into the past and eventually comes back as the badass cyborg that takes down Doom, Headlok and even Galactus. Anyways Jaxon assembles Beta Flight and makes them into Omega Flight to get revenge against Mac for deserting them when the government stopped funding Alpha Flight. He uses Delphine to persuade them to go to battle. He also captured Heather and that's why she pops in at the end, trying to escape.

In his first appearance (classic James) easily beats Wolverine, knocking him out. Yet, he was still inexperienced with the suit and hadn't reached its full power. We still see his shield is strong enough to block Wolverine's adamantium attacks.

Guardian has sent half of the heroes to the Quwrlin home world in order to battle Galactus. Just so some don't snap, the Quwrlin rebuilt Mac to go against Galactus and their entire race based their entire purpose on studying Galactus. So it's not farfetched he could take out a weakened Galactus. Also this dimension was messing with Galactus's powers as he couldn't perform cosmic blasts, but still had his physical power and before James stepped in it took the combined efforts of Alpha Flight and the Avengers strongest members just to hold him off. What’s really impressive is Mac in one attack did what the combined might of Guardian II, Windshear, Her, Quasar, Vision, BOX IV, Hercules and Sersi couldn’t

Omega Flight #4 of 5:
Michael Pointer finally joins into the battle and does it in a big way. Wooza, he destroys multiple demons and buildings with single blasts and this is his first outing in the Guardian armor. Quite uber. I highly doubt he could have killed Sasquatch, as even the Collective couldn't and this is a stronger version of Walter to boot.

Dark Guardian is Delphine Courtney wearing Mac's (classic) electromagnetic suit. Basically he/she [robot] tricks Alpha Flight thinking it was the real Mac came back from the dead. Delphine's lie about coming back is actually the true way Mac comes back later in the series. Basically this is just showing how powerful the suit is, and eventually Heather takes Delphine's suit. Dark Guardian used an invisible wall that speedsters will collide into. It knocked out Northstar instantly.
