(Assuming Andro would have told them all he knows?) "I doubt it's that simple Suna, but I wish it were." He looks to Jelena. "No we don't have a warrant for Gallagher, but I'm betting after we confront him, we won't need one. I would think that he'd either confess, if he's still with the Light, or attack us if he's turned as I fear he has. If it was in his heart to murder his own sister, I doubt very much this time he's spent with Seinar has done him good."
You emerge out onto the roof of the Basilica, in the pouring rain of a vigorous thunderstorm. Just visible through the rain and darkness around is the shadowy form of the city laid out all around the building, though this roof is large enough for several football pitches.
You an see Gallagher in the near distance, his back to you. His sabre is in his right hand, lit. There is a figure prone on the ground beneath him. The rain is hissing off of his sabre. He seems to have sensed your approach, but then he always was sensitive.
"Where is he?" he calls out, not turning to face you.
(Can we tell who's on the ground, and what their general condition is?)
Andro strides forward, past the others. He aims to stop halfway between the Team and Gallagher. His saber is still in his hand, but unlit.
"He's dead, you must have felt it." Andro answers, assuming Gallagher was speaking of Seinar. "Whoever that is, step away from them. Gallagher, Zaland woke up. We know who killed your sister. We need to talk."
"We have," Jelena says. "I am not quite sure what you are doing... but I have a feeling that Sienar has influenced you into this course of action. Come away from it, Gallagher. This isn't the path for you."
Jelena also still has her lightsaber quietly in hand, though she does not walk forward with Andro.
"He was a formidable man and played out his scheme well," Jelena says. "He knew we wouldn't kill him in such a way; no doubt the Force showed him that it was possible but that we wouldn't take it. If that was the only way to stop him and we failed, so be it. Murder is not the Jedi way..."
If Jelena tried to pull away Gallagher's lightsaber, would he add his Force Defense to that? My Force Attack score is higher than his.
And can she sense if the man is still alive?
Yes he is. And a weapon pull is very difficult I am afraid; he could resist that wit his Force rating.
"No! Not the Jedi way. Exactly what he was telling us. That the Jedi way would be no good. Because you do it the Jedi way, you've failed. And you think you can come here to lecture at me? Didn't it occur to any of you that I was depending on you to try and find a way out? Not to obsess about me. Don;t give a damn about ME, I am not important. The PEOPLE are important! But you just wouldn't work it out! You spent so long trying to work out how stopping the famine could possibly help Sienar you missed the obvious that he was STARTING it! Ye Gods... how he must be laughing at all of us still. All just a damn game to him!"
"We know that we missed the point of Sienar's plot, Gallagher, but there's nothing that can be done now. He was able to deceive us, and we were against an opponent that we did not quite comprehend. His insanity became apparent in the end... too late."
Jelena looks down at the man, now cautiously approaching to come even with Andro.
"How will killing this man help stop the famine?"
"Stop the famine? Stop the famine? You really want to know how to do that? You don't WANT to know the truth of that. I know it. I know how to do it. It's a choice I have. But you're looking for an easy answer. Like In was until Seinar showed me differently. Even afetr death he'sstil,l showing me differently! LOOK! LOOK AT THIS!" Still not turning, Gallagher holds up a metallic briefcase with a chain attached; the chain ahs been severed by a sabre blade.
"EMPTY! Just another damn game! And he TOLD me. He told me to my damn face. 'Learn from Roan', he told me. An empty room where you thought the truth was, hmm? AHHH!"
Gallagher hurls the case away from him; it skitters noisily across the roof.
"That's what you get when you look for easy answers."
"An empty room! On Zeiton, you fool. Destroying yourself searching for something that does not exist, and the carnage you cause along the way. But ok. I'll tlel you. What you do, is this.
"You leave the Order. You go to the Senators on this new committee. You put your sabre in their face!. And you tell him- and you tell him straight, because you don't want any wriggle room. 'Put the money where I say, or this sabre goes through your head[/i]. You do it one at a time. And when they send people after you- bounty hunters, police, whatever, you kill them. And you go back to the planets whose Senators sent people after you, and you kill that Senator. You kill their families and their friends and you burn down all tey own, as a warning. And when the Jedi come after you... you'll have to kill them too. And if you do that... eventually you might just do it."
Gallagher turns to you, his face still in gloom.
"Are you up for that?"
"Not in the least," Jelena responds. "Are you?"
She looks sideways at Andro, worried that Gallagher seems to have this figured out. She is hopeful that Gallagher has not yet fallen as he has not yet killed the man before him, but it could be that they only interrupted the beginning of his work, and they would be next.
