USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE IV (JEDI)- Purity

Oh, that's an alien species, Roan... one of the collective intelligence races, though you are a bit fuzzy on which one.

(oh. heh.)

Gallagher glares at Tavers as he resorts to insults. For a moment Gallagher almost allows his hand to clench into a fist and the Force to be exerted around the lawyers throat... but he relents, realizing that it will not help ease his mounting frustration. He unclenches his hand before any harm is done.

"I am NOT a worm!" Gallagher shouts. "It is you, sir, who is the worm! A wretched thing so corrupted by the Dark Side that you lack free will and initiative, bound and chained to that of Sienar. It is you who is useless! You only do what you are told like an obedient slave. If I could purge your mind of this affliction I would, but such help is beyond you. Now, where is Kathya?!"

Would Jelena know anything about the species? I don't know if Roan and this thing are still within eyesight, and Jelena is probably focused on the speech that Sienar is delivering eloquently. She no longer makes comments about it to Andro and watches dumbly, following each of Sienar's words and envious of his eloquence.

Gallagher- you don't actually have precise enough control to do a Grip (lacking the power) I am afraid... you on;ly have one real weapon with which ton threaten anybody.

-

Afraid he's not in sight, Jelena.

I know. It was more a dramatic thing than a rules-based one.

Then you have drawn and activated your lightsabre.. He looks at its lit tip in surprise.

"You wouldn't dare," he says.

Gallagher holds the glowing sword to Tavers' throat, careful not to get too close to him.

"Tell me where she is," Gallagher says, "and what she is doing. NOW."

"You don't have the guts. A worm, like I said. And unlike you, I AM privy to Sienar's plan- and I shall carry it out."

Gallagher holds perfectly still and keeps his lightsaber at Tavers' throat.

"All the answers are in your briefcase," Gallagher says. "You said so yourself. What if I take it from you, as I tried to do earlier?"

Can Gallagher remove the briefcase from Tavers' wrist without harming him?

No, he'd resist.

"You think there is anything for you there? And why would yuo want to know? Are you Sienar's servant or not? For if not, I would bewarte..."

After a moment, Gallagher shuts off his lightsaber, realizing how ridiculous his gestures are in light of the fact that he will not strike down Tavers or get the suitcase without harming him.

"I am a servant of the Force," Gallagher says, replacing the lightsaber at his belt. "And a protector of the Republic. Working for Sienar has proven to have its set time limit before ending in termination. It is a path I would rather not walk... unlike yourself. What should I beware, lawyer?"

"You think he wouldn't know? How quickly would he dispose of you..."

-

And you remember him now, Gallagher.

You remember chasing Kellan into that large open room. You remember Rundell dead before you.

"Vale! Fenring! Help me! she yelled out. Vale- tall and proud- and Fenring- a squat, ugly man- looked at you with a smirk.

"Do not worry yourself, my dear," said Vale. "All rather accounted for. Your troublesome brother has learned more than a Jedi should. But those same irregularities will accouint for his death..."

Gallagher is swimming with images as he comes to a halt after chasing his sister into the room. First he is met with the corpse of Rundell- how does he appear to have been killed? Then his eyes dart to Kellan, then up to the pair standing before him.

"Y-you," Gallagher says, trying to suppress his fear in the face of such grave danger. "You are the Dark Jedi that the assassins were sent after. I am not afraid of you."

His shaking hand says otherwise as he brushes against his lightsaber hilt. He quickly tries to utilize calming procedures that Korth had taught him, knowing that he needs his wits about him if he is to survive what is to come.

No worries, then. Jelena will continue to watch Sienar's speech, hands folded in her lap.

Rundell has been impaled.

"Did you have to do that?" says Kellan, also looking at the body.

"No more loose ends," snarls Fenring.

They both draw and ignitr ignite their sabres.

And there he is- the tall figure in the back corner of the room, smartly dressed with a small black cloak, piercing eyes staring into you...

"Easier than we thought to lure you here," says Vale. "The Padawan who poked his nose into dark things and did not tell his master... and disappeared one day when looking for his sister. Here you story ends."

Gallagher snaps his lightsaber to his hand and holds it in a high guard, the blue light calming him and giving him confidence against the harsh red of his opponents. He notices the third man briefly but pays him little mind for the moment as he poses no immediate threat.

"You are wrong," Gallagher says, feeling oddly calm in the face of certain death. "If a Padawan was able to unravel part of this mystery, then it is only a matter of time before someone else does. And I intend to tell my Master everything..."

Gallagher will let them make the first move...

"You already have."

Korth's blur flashes past you in less than a blink of an eye. Vale and Fenring find their first step towards you blocked by him; Korth's outstretched left hand repels Vale away from him and his green sabre flashes upwards to deflect Fenring's first thrust.

"Help me, Gallagher!" he calls, but you are still in shock, and you find yourself staring at your sister, who is breathing heavily and nervously whilst watching you.

Sienar's speech builds to its intense conclusion.

"Your money and your power will form a new emergency fund to deal with crises in the Republic, quickly and efficiently. The only issue with such a system is the integirty of the men in charge of it. Businessmen misuse it otu of greed. The needy misuse it ouf of... desperation. A guiding hand is needed. People thaqt can make all the decisions that need to be made- whio is to be helped, how much help is to be given,. Who the food will be bought from, who will deliver it, how it shall be distributed. A new Commission, with the power to make all of those decisions!

"YOU are the ones to make those decisions! The chosen of the people! The guardians of Democracy! The only ones with the piower... with the RIGHT to make these deciisons on behalf of the Galaxy entire!

"We throw our weight behind this new ideal! This palce will be the genesis of this new way of thinking. And I offer this placde, and all the facilities my church can allow, to be the homeland of this new body... the Mandragos Commission. That will be my legacy... and YOUR FUTURE!"

Rapturous applause, as all stand and hail his name...

Gallagher is pleasantly surprised by the sudden arrival of Master Korth, greatly relieved that he will not have to go it alone. But then Gallagher locks eyes with Kellan and is distracted by his sister.

"Why, Kellan?" Gallagher asks. "What have you gained from consorting with these criminals?!"

Gallagher will spend a point on Scan to understand what Kellan is feeling.
