With the amount of nudity and explicit sexual tones, I'd think its not aimed at the majority of Twilight's demographic. VD also has some sexuality involved IMO, more so than Twilight (except for Breaking Dawn). TB lacks the type of romance in Twilight (lulz). To me, TB just finds excuses for characters to bone each other and its bloody annoying. I honestly just treat those scenes as "fillers" cause the writers are too lazy and usually skip them. I watch TB for the action and of course the badassery of certain vampires.BTW, Twilight's main audience:
- Teen girls
- Pedophiles

I'm still pissed they killed Godric.

Yet it's writing is and always has been consistently better than TB. Having a shit demographic doesn't mean the show itself has to be shit.
A children's book can be well written and better than novel written for adults, but when one is geared towards children and the other to adults, it's pitiful when the children's book is better written.

It's more I don't agree with it. Vampire Diaries may have been sold as a show that appeals to the Twilight demographic, in fact I'm sure it was, but the subject matter of the series and the writing seem far more "adult" to me than that of TB. So much so that I find it hard to believe it is aimed solely at that demographic
Season 5
Nora on the right. Sired by Godric, Double Agent on the Authority, and Vampiric "sister" to Eric Northman.
Roman. Ancient Vampire (2000+), Head of the Authority. The new superpower in town.
The fifth season of the HBO supernatural drama series True Blood will premiere on June 10, 2012 and feature twelve episodes.
New/Returning Characters
- Russell Edgington (Male Vampire, 3000 Years old, Wanted Rogue)
- Roman (Male Vampire, Ancient/2000+ Years old, Guardian of the Authority)
- Salome (Female Vampire, 2000 Years old, Member of the Authority)
- Nora (Female Vampire, 100-400 Years old, Member of the Authority/Mole, Sired by Godric)
- Rosalyn Harris (Female Vampire, 2000 Years old, Member of the Authority)
- Alexander Drew - (Ancient Child Vampire (9 year old body), Chancellor on The Authority)
Looks like Russell ain't as untouchable as we thought.
Looking forward to Roman kicking ass, I can see he is badass already.
I'm kind of excited now, hopefully less stupid sex scenes, more plot and action.

I do hope they fire the 15 year old girls they hired to write season 4 and re-hire the writers of season 3(1&3 were the best seasons) to write season 5.But with how 4 ended, I have little to no hope of season 5 being anything but shit.
...this does not please me at all.
I only am just now on the last episode of season 2. I have only recently started watching it so seeing this upsets me because the reason I decided not to watch it when It started was because I figured it would be made like twilight since it was so popular. My friend bought seasons 1-3 and kept telling me to watch it so I gave in tried it....well I am enjoying it! To hear 4 was a bust really disappoints me.

I'll be watching it, but the only [little] hope I have so far that it won't be a teeniecrapfest like last season is Christopher Maloni (Roman). He was a solid actor in the show OZ; I'm hoping he brings his talent and his ass-rapes to True Blood, literally and figuratively.

Definitely watch Season 3; it's by far the best of the lot.
