Don't think it makes a difference... Omega Red was probably a better choice against Carnage and Sabretooth, because Ock isn't durable at all, and in 2v2, there are plenty of opportunities for a 2v1 gang-up on him, especially since Goblin can't survive in a melee, he'll be in the skies.
