A-WING vs X-WING

So who will win in a Dogfight?

X-Wing.

A-Wings are faster are much, much faster and maneuverable. So I'd say that in open space an average A-Wing pilot would probably wreck an average X-Wing pilot in one on one combat.

What type of x-wing?

The XJ3 X-wing would rape an A-Wing..

Weren't A-Wings designed for dogfighting, Y-Wings for bombardment, and X-Wings as the Jack of All Trades? I'd say the A-Wing.

The jedi Starfighters were ridiculous. They moved at 20,000 KPH... which is way faster then any other star fighter.

Star Wars Attack of the Clones 'Incredible cross sections' The definitive guide to the craft of Episode II says the maximum sub-light speed (in standard atmosphere-granted) is 12,000 kph.

Honestly, I'm not sure how cannon this is, but I thought i'd throw it out there.

Eh, I'd trust that over Wikipedia, which says the move 20 K in atmosphere.
