I wish people would stop making out the first verse of Deutschlandlied is the German national anthem. They haven't sung the 'über alles' bit in ages.

God Save the Queen gets into trouble in later verses talking about crushing rebellious Scots- not quite a unified anthem for the Union there; I am not sure why we kept it. England alone can always pick things like 'Jerusalem', which is damn good even if the answer to each question of the first verse is 'no', or Land of Hope and Glory.

For the nation, Rule Britannia is ok but frankly no-one will ever learn the words other than those two. 'I vow to thee my country' gets my vote, and has the advantage of still making sense compared to RB.

1- No brainer: France anthem is the biggest badass anthem of them all. Chek the lyrics: Just imagine that your opponent have this shit as theme song: how can you not be afraid while listening that!? Russia has THE best anthem. The music is so powerful, that even if you're not Russian and don't understand the words, listening to the anthem makes you feel really good. Proud to be Russian even if you're not. Hah...
