Gambit's head was behind the tombstone. Blade struck with a stab intended for an unaware Gambit's head and just missed. It was an ambush. I'm thinking Blade thought Remy was a vampire. What exactly is the extent of Blade's new abilities anyway?
I don't think Blade anticipated Gambit to throw exloding cards left and right either.

No, I don't mean it as a knock to Blade's accuracy. I'm saying that Gambit's head was hidden by the tombstone. Blade stabbed at where he thought Gambit's head was. He didn't seem to be holding back as the next panel depicts Blade trying to slice Gambit in half. Blade's initial desire to kill him leads me to believe that the first stab was intented for Gambit's head. He just missed because Gambit was behind something. It looks like an ambush for about the same reasons.Sorry for the misunderstanding.
I know he's superhuman. I'm asking for the extent of his upgrades.

It's kind of hard to find a way to take Gambit out in any location out in the open, or with small objects around. There's almost nothing stopping him from spamming projectiles and carpet bombing the area.
But with no arena specified, we're in basically a Khazan style arena. Which means nothing for him to use except whatever cards or whatever he is carrying.
Can he charge up people or not?
