Galactus in the Black Celestial act couldn't satisfy his hunger (duo to tampering by the Black/dreaming Celestial while Galactus was on earth) Thus he began absorbing a entire universe and would (according to reed) have began absorbing more then that single universe. So Basically Galactus was eating Eternity and Infinity.
