It's either the machines from The Matrix series, or it's nothing.

The Matrix isn't a corporeal thing capable of fighting. Skynet is a computer system within the world, The Matrix IS the world, that's the point.

It's like saying "God Vs a Person".

The matrix.

The humans were actually able to destroy Skynet. Where as the Matrix machines were unopposed. Even with the aid of Jesus Christ the humans never conquered the Matrix.
