I have an Accent now! And it's not Canadian!

ciao

Just so you guys know, I was born and raised in Canada and once I was hanging out with this guy from Boston, and almost everyone we met thought he was Canadian, because of the way he talked. What?

Most of the Canadians you'll meet will be stupid, because most people are stupid, especially when they've had one too many brainfreezes. But I don't sound that different from most United Statesiders, except that I pronounce bag like "bayg" and mom like "mum." Mum's not a real word here, by the way.

Errbody muv yer hands IN THE AYER!

Apparently to some Americans I know who've heard me through Skype or Ventrilo thinks I sound British. Which I don't think I do.

Australians have pretty cool accents, and I like their sayings ✅
I have a few Aussie teachers who go about telling everyone, "How ya doing?" then walking away 😂 Some people thought it was rude but it's pretty cool 😄

The British are pretty cool as well, and I like how you Brits on here pronounce certain words and the slang is awesome lol.

Haven't really heard a Canadian accent yet...

As for the American accent, I like the South Carolina ones, Colorado ones, Washington State ones and even though RJ lives in Texas, he doesn't sound like a Texas man.

I like the mixed accents. A mate from Brit moved to the US when he was 14 and now he's 24. He sounds half Brit half American. So cool 😄

we're just substantially cooler than the rest of the world 😛

lol that's cause you let Britain come over and live there for 10 bucks, in a desperate plea to re-populate that crazy Spider ridden world you guys call Australia.

Techincally it was for free, 'cause they were all murders and thieves we didn't want.

yeah and then that stupid John Batman guy was all like: hey, lets sail north to the main land
and then signed a 'treaty' with the aboriginals and then inhabited the main land and took over from there onwards.

Have you got any aboriginie in you?

I don't have an accent at all.

Nonsense. You just assume that your accent is the standard accent.

True, a case can be made for the accent of the Indiana region being considered the standard by some, but you still have an accent.

People that say they don't, mostly don't understand what accents are or are very self absorbed.
