In Energy absorption, quasar is indeed above SS. But in regards to overall manipulation that is channeling, transmuting, synthesizing and such, SS has the superior feats. Channeling the crunch while weakened, Synthesizing the odin force, Absorbing and converting the universal energies of the unilord( from soul energy to cosmic energy)etc.

i think know the fight u r talking about.( the one where quasar threw the fight). And its true that in that fight Quasar did seem to be superior to SS energy manip wise but dont forget that SS has been portrayed stronger and stronger over time hence his more current versions have been able to accomplish feats like his unilord feat and his crunch channeling feat. Also i think that the range of energies u can manipulate shud also be a part of the criteria for determining the best energy manipulator.

But your right that quasar does not have the multitude of feats SS has so its tough to really determine who is better

Regarding Quazar, the only thing im seing that puts him above Surfer ability to manipulate energy is the bands capacity to absorb and its potential for a massive discharge which ofcourse has never been shown panel wise...
