a couple of my friends do it pretty often, i just think its nasty thing to do and makes people look bad. I am past the point where if I was going to try it, I would have. I assume you're in middle or high school? i lol'd at nationalizing the pot market, go smoke up and have another amazingly deep thought.
Like most of your assumptions, you're wrong. I'm 29 years old and I've never once encountered an "American Badass" that didn't smoke pot; be they George Washinton or Thomas Jefferson or the real mental giants like the guys I grew up with in North Carolina or my own "American Badass" uncle who hate ****, votes red and grows his own weed on his Virginia mountain top farm where he raises horses, clears brush, kicks ass and had an outhouse until he married my aunt...and doesn't have to wear a costume to get that point across.
It isn't nationalizing an industry when the public can benefit from it by taking it away from the average private provider? Right now, only a certain group of people profit from it, but you want to hate it while handing it to the drug companies or the tobacco industry who are open to taxation by the boogie man of federal government? You hate taxes but want to legalize it only if it's taxable? I'd love to see pot be legalized and American farmers who are now being paid not to grow corn or wheat would actually be paid to grow a crop like hemp/pot. Hemp is a crop that has far more substantial and profitable uses than does corn or wheat. But that can't be brought up in the face of people like yourself who are whole-heartedly standing on their public soapboxes espousing the negative effects of marijuana, hating it every step of the way, as a cash crop that can replace the paper, fiber and cotton-based clothing industry...as well as the alcohol industry, hich does much more harm to the public good than weed ever will.
I smoke. I pay anywhere from 3.50 to 4.50 to 5 bucks, plus, for a pack of cigarettes, depending on which store I walk into when I run out. If the US government were to legalize and sell a pack of 20 joints, they could charge a huge amount for them: 20 to 30 bucks each. And they would fly off the shelves. I agree that it is a wonderful way for America to make money, I simply disagree with the hypocritical reasoning you use to justify it when compared to everything else you have spent the last 8 years saying. Like Tobacco, it costs very little to make the half pound of pot that it would take to manufacture 20 joints. Unlike Tobacco, there is very little of the actual plant that can't be used for something else that would generate revenue for the company that grows it. But the huge price of the pack of cigarettes come from passing on the cost of the taxes being imposed on it...by the states you love so much. "Federalists" as John McCain said, incorrectly. I simply do not understand why you hate it so much but what to approve it for the rest of a country that you think deserves equal say in the matter. And, like you, they're affraid to admit they smoke it.
