I recently had a daughter, and I decided to learn a second language and teach her as well. My wife knows a little german from taking a college course so we decided to learn german. I ordered Rosetta Stone and so far I really enjoy it.Anyone else learning a new language? Or maybe you already know a few! I'd love to hear about it.

I'm taking German in highschool. My German teacher knows like 6 different languages though, she's pretty much the smartest woman I know. Anyway, I always wondered if Rosetta Stone actually works.

Rosetta Stone so far has been great. The only somewhat frustrating thing about it in my opinion is that you don't get any explanations on anything. It is up to you to learn...., but so far I've figured everything out. I think the fact that it makes you try harder to figure things out makes it stick better. I also like the Audio Companion that I got with my version. I listen to it and immediately remember the words and what they mean....all with no translation. Then again I am only on the beginning levels , so far though I love it.
Why is Mandarin the most useful language to teach someone... for me it's useless anyway.
Everyone and his dog seems to.
Not moi, never felt the urge to learn Japanese.
I studied German at school and for exams, and now I have forgotten most of it but would probably get by if I was dropped in Germany.
I get along fine with French but take me to the more rural areas down south of France where a lot speak a hell of a lot faster, then I would more or less be lost...

I learned German & Spanish, well I had to I live(d) in these places.
The easiest way to learn a language is to actually go to a country where its spoken and try and get by, this way you learn real fast, because you have to.
What´s Rosetta Stone?
