Odin vs Seth fight should end the debate. Odin doesn't breeze through a Mordru fight but takes it 10/10. Mordru is a little outclassed here.
Odin isn't dead, he exists in the void fighting Surtur on a daily basis preventing him from returning to our plane. Thor gave Odin the option of coming back and Odin turned his son down. When Thor enters the Odinsleep to replenish his powers he can visit his father. The void is a plane between life and death.
