Smurph Post:

K, thought I’d cover all the major points, and why we trump Fangirl in every area (s)he’s listed as a possibility of a win for her.

Telepathy

As Blair’s shown, Mr. Sinister is powerful. Here, it states he is among the top five telepaths on Marvel Earth:
http://img49.imageshack.us/my.php?image=xmen2020022yu2.jpg

Additionally, he’s equipped with the mind of a robot that operates on a fast enough level to make particle beams in between panels and immediately create energy waves that can counteract Kitty’s phasing. Meaning that at base speeds, we’re operating far faster than they are.

Super additionally, he’s amalgamated with a super speedster that can move and react while moving fast enough to outrace the beams from Hal Jordan’s ring. This is a speedster that easily approaches the speed of light. Here, he’s slowed down to Mach 10, but that only means that he’ll be reacting faster than anybody else. Again, keep in mind that he also now has Nimrod’s reflexes and super processing speeds.

All of this together means that we’ll be striking with more power and far faster than any of them.

Throw in the fact that we have access to all of Tony and Reed’s tech, as well as Nimrod’s himself. They have all made technology to block out telepaths before. So in addition to Sinister’s mental forte, our own speed and our hyper reflexes, we’re equipped with tech that left Tony as the only un-mind raped human on marvel earth. Tech that blocked out all the X-men telepaths. Etc.

Telepathy is only a point in our favor.

Faust

Fangirl states that Faust is a better GL than Hal Jordan… crylaugh

She believes that his copying powers to make a stage was more elaborate than anything Hal has ever done. crylaugh

Hal made an entire CITY. 😐

The fact is, Faust is not only an illegal power copier, he has also never done anything close to what Fangirl’s suggesting. Believe me, I would know.

He power copies. That’s obvious. Fangirl’s stating that since Hal and Wally couldn’t use their powers, it’s power stealing, not copying, and therefore not illegal. But you do realize that that means she’s depowering her entire team, save Faust?

You see, her prep idea is to have Faust steal their powers by tapping into their souls, then grant them their powers again by using the miracle machine.

But Faust is still tapping into their souls…

Logistically, this would just mean that their powers are still stolen as long as Faust taps into their souls to steal it. He doesn’t just tap in, steal powers and leave. He loses the powers as soon as he loses contact with their souls.

Imagine that a telepath has taken control of Ironman, and is using this control to use Ironman’s suit.

Somebody then decides that Ironman should get a new suit, so he gets it.

The telepath is still in control.

What’s ironic, is this would logically just give lots more power to Faust. But how much of it does Faust actually get? When using Hal and Wally’s powers, he accessed very little of their potential. And he’s always stated that he has a very severe threshold for what magic he can use, as everything taxes him, or taxes the souls of others. Look at the scan that Fangirl tries to use to say his telekinesis could affect Superman- he says it CAN’T affect Superman unless they’re willing to accept an extremely high cost.

Meaning Faust is extremely limited, and Fangirl tries to play him off as someone that can steal the powers of high heralds with ease.

El oh el.

Furthermore, its not power stealing, its power copying.

He’s used the same technique that he used to “steal” Hal and Wally’s powers again, without blocking their use of their powers. Why? Because it was a passive power that he copied later on. Copied the appearance of a Lizard/Human hybrid.

He couldn’t block Lizzie from using his appearance, so he was forced to just copy it. But in the case of Hal and Wally, after tapping into their souls, he still had “soul control” enough to block them accessing their powers.

Not power theft, power copying and then soul control.

Here’s the lizard copying…

http://img65.imageshack.us/my.php?image=copycatjm8.jpg

And thus, illegal.

Or she can short circuit her entire team. Makes no difference to me.

Moving on…

EDIT

I see Fangirl has now conceded that he doesn’t have the miracle machine (or did, before she edited her previous posts). Meaning that this was a fruitless explanation on my part, save to show how Fangirl is willing to bend the truth to any extreme to try and win.

So far this match, she’s tried to have us forfeit, tried to force us to allow her prep, tried to bend the rules concerning appearance order, LIED about having proof that eating the machine didn’t happen, and is now trying to have our character banned to win.

We’ve completely schooled her this match, and (s)he’s crying foul.

Moving on…

Grunge

She’s shown Grunge copying some air and water, and now believes he can replicate Wonder Woman’s unbreakable lasso.

Fangirl claims that the only magical element of the whole thing is that the truth enchantment made on the lasso, and that it’s simply the super durable metal that allows the lasso to be unbreakable.

But that’s completely false. Which Fangirl, as a wonder woman fanatic, would know.

Hephaestus, an elder god comparable to Odin, forging the would-be lasso, had a Mjolnir-style hammer exploding with magical energy and incorporated magic in all of his creations.

And the lasso actually unraveled in JLA: Golden Perfect when Wonder Woman stopped believing in truth. Meaning that, as much as Fangirl would like to misconstrue the situation, the truth enchantment and the unbreakable enchantment are one and the same.

So, if Grunge touched Mjolnir, would you believe he could start charging up a godblast?
If he touched Juggernaut, would you believe he would have Cyttorak’s enchanment?

And even if he did, it doesn’t matter. Nimrod on his own has WTFpwned Juggernaut. We have Nimrod with all the technical mojo of Tony Stark, Reed Richards and Mr. Terrific, moving at + Mach 10 speed.

So this was all irrelevant to our win, but still worth pointing out, even for sheer enjoyment.

Speed

We have a character that, un-neutered, can outrace GL’s beams and react at those speeds.

He has… a street level amazon?

K thx.

We win.

Grunge absorbs the multiple properties of the magical Jurykoku creatures. Kinda like the Yugi-Yo creatures. One creature even was a ninja. He takes thier skills too. Not copying thier powers. taking them.

http://i419.photobucket.com/albums/pp278/fangirl101_photos/Gen13_v1_59_15-1.jpg

He can even switch them at will once he’s absorbed them. His body has photographic muscle memory. He can recall anything that’s touched.
http://i419.photobucket.com/albums/pp278/fangirl101_photos/Gen13v1058-16-2.jpg

Who said he was limited to basic elements?

http://i419.photobucket.com/albums/pp278/fangirl101_photos/Gen13v1074-14-2.jpg

He even absorbs the advanced tech of an alien weapon. Nimrod should never get close to my guy. He actually pulls the tech into himself making it a part of him.
http://i419.photobucket.com/albums/pp278/fangirl101_photos/Gen13v1021-21-1.jpg
http://i419.photobucket.com/albums/pp278/fangirl101_photos/Gen13v1021-22-1.jpg

Actually absorbs another person’s body into his. He can make something become part of him. Not copy. Take the thing and make it his to use. People. Machines. Etc.

Faust removing powers from someone Ala scrambler and adding them to his own with soul manipulation. Not copying. Actually taking. And I’m only saying he takes the low level powers of Mr. T and Mantis.

Grodd decides to mix it up with Matrix since his mind powers wont’ work on her.
http://photos1.blogger.com/photoInclude/blogger/6420/2541/1600/sg04-15.jpg

The Guantlets of atlas are being severly under estimated. Here just one gauntlet
Allows Cassie, A ten year old girl, to take a punch from the Doomsday clone. It even
Heals her quickly. The gauntlet amps the users original power. So yeah. Just one gauntlet amps a girl to survive a doomsday punch. I have two gauntlets on the combined might of Echo and Artemis who happens to be an amazon that is 5 times stronger than a normal man.
http://www.picamatic.com/view/1229555_WonderWoman111-18/

The sandals of Herme’s allow the user to fly as fast as Wonder Woman or Hermes.
So I’ve got two seriously mobile members on my team to their one.
http://www.picamatic.com/show/2008/10/23/06/25/1229499_945x1384.jpg

Artemis is able to withstand a Brutal beating at the hands of the Uber amped White magician with just one gauntlet on.
http://www.picamatic.com/view/1230523_ww100103yi/
http://www.picamatic.com/view/1230524_ww100110vp/

Wonder Woman once again comments on how the gauntlet is keeping Artemis alive after her beating.
http://www.picamatic.com/show/2008/10/23/09/35/1230486_897x1331.jpg

So I have Echo and Artemis combined wearing Both gauntlets. That’s someone who can fight better than Daredevil and Diana( Since Artemis did beat Diana in the second Contest) With 120 times the strength of a normal Woman. We’ve already seen the gauntlet allow Cassie to take a punch from the Matrix Doomsday. So exactly how Killer is a street leveler is so funny to me. The other team must take us all for fools.

Let’s look at the facts of this tourney.

Their team has no member that can fly.
My team has two members that can fly at the tourney cap.

They have No T-Spheres because they didn’t program them for the specific elements of the battle. Thus if the t-Sheres attack of their own accord, they would be independent constructs. Not done in prep, not done.

They want us to believe Nimrod can just turn into anything he wants. How come he doesn’t just make himself into the Ultimate nullifier or a power nullifier or a toaster?
It’s because different machines require certain elements and power supplies. Nimrod has one power source and no matter manipulation. He is limited to what he’s done on panel only. He adapts with what he has available to him. He can’t do anything. Or he’d turn into adamantium and pwn.

They have Mr. T.
Every one of my Amalgams is superior to him. His soul is tapped and his powers taken and he’s killed. He won’t be able to hit Faust if Batman couldn’t. He won’t be able to break any TK spells either.

Killer or IndestructoGirl Kill him before He blinks if Skymage doesn’t get him.

Mantis. She’s uber in her skills and martial arts.
As she fights Echo, She’d realize that her moves are being copied and added to someone who already can fight like Daredevil and Bullseye. Someone who can fight better than WW in hand to hand due to Artemis’s skill. And is far stronger and more durable than anything she can dish out. Or She gets wrapped up in the magic lasso and is taken out quickly. Seriously. She’s not mobile and is a sitting duck. Hell they could throw a tree on her and just kill her.

Nimrod thingy-
He’s going to be unable to put out enough fire power to put down IndestructoGirl. She’s made of Golden Lasso. She’s also got TK shields and is as fast as he is. Plus she’s invisible. Once She touches him, She can absorb his intelligence and power and drain and use his own systems against him. Ala Grunge and the Authority’s Hellicarrier.

Nimrod has no experience with tracking magical beings, So as Faust is shadow walking and using illusions that can fool even Superman, Nimrod would be forced to Focus on Killer. She even has wondy’s magical tiara so it’s possible to slow him down with a beheading. But he won’t be able to over come her speed which matches his, and attack her. Plus she’s durable enough to take shots from beings at LEAST twice as strong as the Matrix Doomdsay. By the time he can put her down, IndestructoGirl has pwned him with his own powers and absorbed his tech and knowledge into herself.

Then the competitions says Sinister just transfers knowledge to everyone on the team and telepathically attacks every thing on in the savage land. Sinister has never shown that type of power. A statement saying he’s one of the top five telepaths in the world means nothing without feats to show it. He’s pwned a less experienced Psylock and Jean Grey.
He’s never shown to pwn groups of beings wit TP. And turning someone’s powers off isn’t a psionic feat unless stated. He’s a geneticist. There are many ways he can accomplish this.

Their prep nor battle plans mention any scanning. (Which they would have to show that they can do). So they don’t know where we are. And two of us can’t be seen. They didn’t do any omni-directional blast. So how did they hit us?

IndestructoGirl has already shown that she can break free from Telepathic Control that is
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Sinister’s. And I’ve shown her resisting Gorilla Grodd’s TP. Grodd is one of the most powerful Telepath’s in DC.

Not only that, She can shape shift. She could at anytime Shape shift into a bird, or one of the opposing team’s members and totally pwn them before they know what’s going on. They severaly underestimated my character choices. Really. She’s already invisible and has killed Mr. T and Mantis if Skymage or Killer hasn’t gotten to them.

Now it’s My Three against his one.

Why is It my Three against his one?
Because two of mine can’t be seen. And Killer is far too durable to be put down or killed with any swiftness. She’s also as fast as he is. So over coming her speed is impossible.
This becomes three on one in the first few seconds of the match. With IndestructoGirl being able to literally absorb Your amalgam into herself and use up all the power to empower herself.

Thier team has no mobility what so ever besides what Nimrod Offers. They have two severly limited characters with no travel powers or resistance to injury beyond what I can produce offensively.

My team has three on one against thier one power house. Of which One of my team is completely indestructible.Who happens to be invisible and be able to take thier powers and use them against them.
There is no way they can win. My team has superior mobility, And Superior ways of taking out thier powerhouse.

***Official Announcement***

I've had to make far too many of these posts this week...

The amount of full appearances for the character Air Wave III (Harold Jordan), and the legality of his drafting under the provisions of the 10 full appearance requirement, was brought into dispute yesterday. Upon intense, extensive research, it was discovered that the character did in fact have 10 appearances as a whole:

# JSA: Our Worlds at War #1 (September 2001): "The All-Stars"
# JSA #49 (August 2003): "Princes of Darkness Part 4: Army of Darkness"
# JSA #50 (September 2003): "Princes of Darkness Part 5: The Last Light"
# JSA #51 (October 2003): "Princes of Darkness Coda: Justice Eternity"
# Birds of Prey #70 (late September 2004): "Between Dark and Dawn, Part Two: Huntress/Prey"
# Birds of Prey #72 (late October 2004): "Between Dark and Dawn, Part Four: Material Girl"
# Birds of Prey #73 (early November 2004): "Between Dark and Dawn, Part Five: Blood and Circuits"
# JSA #77 (November 2005): "Mixed Signals"
# Infinite Crisis #2 (January 2006): "The Survivors"
# Infinite Crisis #3 (February 2006): "Divine Intervention"

However, 2 of these appearances, Birds of Prey #70, Birds of Prey #72, were confirmed as simply being either cameo appearances, or appearances of the character being imprisoned and not engaging in any actual activity within the story.

By rule, Air Wave III would in fact not be useable due to not meeting the established full appearance quota. He's been removed from this match.

All arguments/plans concerning the character's use are to be disregarded.

I'm not going to sugar coat this, this match has been an ugly one to judge.

My vote goes to BLAIR AND SMURPH, some of the reasons why are in the quote below.

And thus, illegal.

I just didn't buy some of the stuff you were selling, Fangirl.

I didn't believe that what Faust was doing was power stealing, I thought it was power copying and that is as Smurph has said illegal. Also, I don't believe the properties of the Lasso could be replicated.

Ultimately the loss of Air Wave affected this match heavily, however, I still believe that (Let's remember I personally am disregarding the power "stealing"😉, Nimrod/Sinister could deal with the remaining combatants.

Bdub/Smurph Vs. Fangirl

Well I admit when I saw the first post of this match I thought "Well it's over." However in reviewing the rules and specific rulings made during the course of this match and others I must find against Fangirl and the ability to use the MiracleMachine. As it seems using the MM was integral to her plan and that Faust's powers are not only of arguable legality but also present a danger to the user the odds of her team surviving seem dim.

Vote: Bdub/Smurph

Judge Vote (3 of 3)

And for my final ruling for this week, but at least 8th ruling for this match...

This match was a SERIOUS headache. It turned into the Florida State Recount Law Suits quickly. However, after all the dust had settled, there was a major problem with this match:

Faust (Skymage, as Fangirl calls him).

Fangirl, in her original prep (which, frankly, would have guaranteed her victory in this match), had Faust steal the powers of his teammates, and then used the wish machine to grant the powers Faust had just taken back to his teammates. The issue is that it was proven that the wish machine was in fact destroyed and so there would be no Legion of Superheroes powers granted to all of Faust's teammates, or the teams original powers returning.

Faust is, however, a superbeing in control of the souls and powers of all of his teammates; Matrix Supergirl, Grunge, Artemis, and Echo. Now what we end up with is pretty much Faust/Skymage and 2 powerless canon fodder amalgams (powerless Matrix/Grunge and Echo/Artemis, who have no "superpowers" to be stolen).

Faust would be extremely powerful.

But also extremely vulnerable.

Fangirl never addressed any independent defenses for telepathy beyond using the powers of the Legion which included telepaths. Once the Miracle Machine determined to no longer exist the rug was essentially pulled out from under her feet. BDub & Smurph's plan was to bombard Fangirl's team with a telepatic assault and then slay them. With Fangirl's lack of telepathic defenses this would be achieved.

Judge Vote: Bdub & Smurph

Note: Fangirl easily had this battle won until it was determined that the Miracle Machine no longer existed per canon and couldn't be used.

Heals her quickly. The gauntlet amps the users original power. So yeah. Just one gauntlet amps a girl to survive a doomsday punch. I have two gauntlets on the combined might of Echo and Artemis who happens to be an amazon that is 5 times stronger than a normal man.

The sandals of Herme’s allow the user to fly as fast as Wonder Woman or Hermes.
So I’ve got two seriously mobile members on my team to their one.

Artemis is able to withstand a Brutal beating at the hands of the Uber amped White magician with just one gauntlet on.

Wonder Woman once again comments on how the gauntlet is keeping Artemis alive after her beating.

I'd actually misread a portion of this battle in my original judgment. It turns out that Fangirl did not take the powers of Supergirl and Grunge at all in this match, which changes the dynamics of my judgment in this match greatly. I'm actually going to change my vote because, even without the Miracle Machine, I think that the Grunge/Matrix amalgam, with it's powers, teamed with Faust/Brainiac would be very formidable, and other than the Sinister/Nimrod amalgamation, which is formidable, BDub/Smurph's team doesn't bring much to the table in way of offense beyond the T-Spheres and superior H2H which can be dealt with, and I believe they are greatly overstating the adaptability of Nimrod, and I don't feel they've established the ability to create the necessary components or energies necessary for all of the tech they plan on creating.

Judge Vote (changed) to Fangirl.
