Inspirational People

Name people that have inspired you and their beliefs that have reflected onto you.

For me, Carl Sagan was pretty inspirational.

Ayn Rand

Dan Simmons

my father, as provincial as that sounds

Joseph Campbell

Various family and friends

Seconded.

I just wish I could agree with her though...

Also, Kurt Vonnegut.

Friedrich Nietzsche.
Sun Tzu
Machiavelli
Dexter Morgan- even though he's fictional. So I guess that one go's to the author instead. Changed how I looked at morality in any case.

I've always found serial killers inspirational and (in Dexter's case at least) much easier to identify with and take the perspective of then normal people.

But it does require a lot of creativity to do anything useful with.

Well, in a totally unrelated, complete stranger sort of way by raising a son who posted said inspiration, thus kindling in myself fond recollection of he who sired me.
