Because every character needs to have something incredibly tragic happen in their past, otherwise how can they be decent characters? Right? right? That's how it is isn't it? A character must go through something very tragic in order to be a good character? That's how it is isn't it? yes? Is that so? That's how it is isn't it?

Backtracking already? You seemed to be indirectly claiming that no one in One Piece isn’t as deep as, say, series like Naruto (where pretty much every one has to have a horrible childhood it seems).

Because being upbeat and hiding inner sorrow is such a great trait? yes?

Who said any thing about hiding inner sorrow? I said that their pasts help shape who they are, but they don’t dwell on their histories, which is definitely more likeable in a character than constantly dwelling on some messed-up childhood.

It’s because of Luffy’s time seeing how great pirates are that he decided he wanted to be one. It’s because of Zoro’s childhood friend dying that he vowed to become the best swordsman. Sanji’s experience in almost starving to death is what caused him to take cooking so seriously. And all their past experiences have caused them

It's so great when all the characters in the show basically act the same retarded way? yes?

Like what way? Except for a few occasions where you have Luffy, Usopp, and Chopper behaving all giddy together, almost no one acts the same. Another one of the most appealing qualities about this series is that the Strawhat crew is full of such a motley crew that they shouldn’t be able to get along, but throughout all the troubles that they get into, they somehow manage to somehow get along with each other any way.

It's still possible to be a great character without having your entire history revealed.

Yes, and if you’ll notice, many characters throughout all of manga have some kind history revealed to show who they are in an attempt to create character development, often with flashbacks. Naruto does it all the time. Bleach does it. Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure does it with just about every single character (and that’s a LOT of characters in that series). The list goes on and on.

One Piece is no different. It just manages to pull that off better than most.

The show kinda sucked, I still watched it tho, but that was cuz the Manga was really phuckin good, one of my favs.

No thanks.

I'd rather watch Animal Yokocho haermm

Oh yeah, the characters in one piece are so deep.

Show me one Naruto or Bleach character with a better history than Nico Robin.

Konohamaru. 131

cuz he didn't die after putting his face on Tsunade chest 😆 that is one great history there..
