Mordru, The Dark Lord - Respect Thread

Here's an interesting little tid-bit...

-Mordru-
"I was born of Chaos, but I have long since learned to integrate those energies with equal amounts derived from the forces of Order":

This helps explain Mordru's overall 'uniqueness' in the scheme of things..

^👆

I wanted to add that last night aswell, but I didn't remember when he said it, and it was too late to look over everything again.

Wow, nice work.

I've never followed Mordru, but he seems pretty powerful.

Thanks.

Pretty much everything is already included here.

Excellent thread.
Mordru is uber

Nicely detailed thread. I forgot some of those feats. Looks purdy too.

He's powerful. But pretty bleh, character wise.

Maybe it was just that he felt overused by the end of JSA... each battle was supposed to trump the last, so it all felt pretty cornball at the end.

He's probably one of the coolest, not-complex villains in comics. And though he was used in quite a few issues of JSA, I still couldn't get enough of him.

i completely agree with that.

With the help of Nabu and Shazam, Doctor Fate imprisoned Mordru within the Rock of Eternity..

-Shazam-
"His power will be absorbed into it... He will be constantly drained and weakened":

----

However, Mordru was not absorbed, and his powers were not drained. In fact, he actually managed to gain a degree of control over the Rock of Eternity [an uber feat in itself.]

Through this 'medium' Mordru was able to to not only form a body using the walls of the RoE itself, in order to attack Shazam - but he was able to cause Shazam actual harm:

----

After becoming 'bloodlusted', Shazam uses almost all of his power in a single attack against Mordru.... An attack which Shazam was sure destroyed him:

----

But despite Shazam's best [and I do mean best] efforts, all he managed to do was release Mordru, who then leaves the all but powerless Wizard to face Spectre:

In short, even one of Shazam's most powerful attacks [from within the RoE] didn't even come close to harming Mordru. Uber.

Didn't he do something in the latest Lo3W?

Mordru absorbed all the magic of universe-247.

With this power, he was able to own the LoSH with a gesture, and resurrect the LoSV just as easily:

Mordru owns Infinite Man, and absorbs half of his 'infinite' power [sharing the other half with Glorith]:

Though it was mentioned that Glorith had a hand in planning the power-absorbing scheme, it should be noted that Mordru, and Mordru alone, was the only character actually shown using his powers against Infinite Man. *cough*it's his feat*cough*

---

Per Vril Dox, Mordru/Glorith could have destroyed the entire universe, and all it's timelines, in exactly 5.8 seconds:

Just to demonstrate the type of power he/they possessed during this time.

After defeating Mirabai, Mordru becomes the new ruler of Sorcerers' World:

What is Sorcerers' World? "It's the locus [ie. hub, heart, nexus point, etc.] for all magic on earth, as well as other arcane worlds and dimensions":

As you can see, this includes realms like Gemworld, and even the 5th dimension. Mordru just came into some uber power.

---

Mordru then casually owns Zatara, and dismisses Captain Atom with the same amount of ease:

^ I hate that retcon. Does that mean Mordru has the power of all the 5D Imps+Gemworld+the Elements?

Wouldn't that make him on the level of the Word or God-Thing?

Doubt it. After all, Mirabai (the former ruler of Sorcerers' World) certainly wasn't the 'end all be all', if Mordru and CA were able to kill her.

👆 for the updates, Galan.

I too dislike the 5th dimension retcon.

They might as well have just gone for broke and said the Source was derived from Sorcerer's World as well. 🙄

I know, I complained about that in the comic book questions thread

Saying that the 5D comes from the Sorcerer's World (in the 3D) is like discovering your entire Universe is derived from a Comic Book.
