The media treated this story like these two suburbanites were hardcore, 88 tagged, white supremacists outfitted with nigga stompin boots and a van full of plastique.

Like i said before though, i believe these kids should be charged and punished because their current perspective is obviously not one that is going to benefit society. I don't mean to insinuate that it should be illegal to hold racial discrimination towards others. It's not illegal to be a racist but these two were obviously headed down a very destructive path. For that, they deserve some type of probation and counseling but to parade them around like enemies of the state and sentence their lives away...,well, that is making career criminals out of two dumb kids.

Really, so you don't believe that plotting to assassinate an President Elect to be a federal offense punishable by jail time? Would you feel the same if they got away with killing innocent women, children? This type of behavior is simply unacceptable, whether it was a joke or for real (which they had ample time to think on) these clowns deserve to be the butt of the joke.

I think that it's about time that people became color blind, and for them to see that the job should go to the best person that deserves it, whatever that job may be.

My point had nothing to do with race, nor was i trying to defend the alleged ambitions of the suspects. The amount of national coverage that this story received, in my opinion, however, was in large part due to Obama's skin color.
Of course i believe that these two should be punished but i do not for one minute, believe that they had the gumption or resources required to act on their plans. I even doubt that they would have gone through with harming anyone. However, they should still be tried as though they had full intent. How many genuine tips do you think the F.B.I, C.I.A and secret service receive daily that pertain to legitimate assassination attempts? How many mass terror threats do you think they receive? Many more than we as the public ever hear about. These two fuk heads were just talking a whole lot of shit, yet there are people of stature, who have the resources and intent of actually pulling off an assassination being pulled in, probably every day.

Why was this story given the top spot on every news station and newspaper. Why was it given priority one on coverage? There have been Mall shootings where a dozen people lost their lives that received not even a quarter of focus that this story did. A grenade exploded a few meters from George Bush a few years ago that was only mentioned in passing. This story was spun because of political relevance and nothing more.

Maybe it was because it was linked to actually ****ing up more people than Obama. It was a "planned" (jokingly or not) assesment of how to kill Obama and 111 other random people of color.

You could say they were just playing around or whatever but that's not even cool. No, it shouldn't have been given much attention, but you act as if 3 hour news specials were given to it or as if it is anywhere near as insulting as those Congressional hearings about steroids when everyone was questioning the merit of our actions in Iraq.
