Destiny when GR was knocked out from the adamantium he wasn't nearly as strong as he is now.

yeah I know but shouldnt the same thing happen regardless of how strong he is? him being more powerful should just make the explosion bigger...right?

No, because he would have increased durability.

Why would it make the explosion bigger, he isn't empowered by hellfire.

You mean couldn't?

And like I said, I believe it was explained that because he had been alive for so long he himself was too strong to be hurt by weaker levels of magic than himself.

Like trying to put out a forest fire with a drop of water.

If he was completely immune to magic they couldn't have beaten him.
