I haven't watched these yet, so don't know if they are subtitled or not.
Just pop it in here since it's from French film makers. There is a new film from the Inside directors starting production soon called LIVID, English language film this time around:
It’s young Lucy’s first day as a trainee in-house caregiver. She visits Mrs Jessel, an old woman who lies in cerebral coma, by herself, in her large desolate house. Learning by accident that Mrs Jessel, a former dance teacher of repute, supposedly possesses a treasure somewhere in the house, Lucy and friends William and Ben decide to search the house in the hope of finding it. At night, they get into the house, which reveals itself to be increasingly peculiar. Their hunt for Mrs Jessel’s treasure leads them into a horrifying supernatural series of events that will change Lucy forever.
There is a poster out already on the internet, got a nice Dario Argento vibe going.

Trailer for Vertige.
They have made a big mistake choosing that piece of Classical music, O Fortuna... makes it look incredibly cheesy.

Exactly what I thought. It actually appeared very Descentish and Vertical Limitish to me.
But I liked the fact that the trailer, although cheesy tells me nothing of the movie.
And I agree with you, Mild, the trailer music is somewhat cheesy, but it looks really well done nonetheless.
I'll be checking this one out.
I'm expecting French movies to be released here in Montreal quicker than in US. Well...hoping.

Yeah, it's a shame with the music choice, looks like it is actually quite good but the music seems to bring it down to cheese level in my eyes and that might turn people off who go with their final say via the trailer and not bother with it, when it might turn out to be a decent addition.

From like the first 2 minutes of the trailer it looked like a comedy....
There was a
Spoiler:
kiss between them in the bathroom scene that Anna initiated but Lucie pulled away, she loved Lucie and would do anything for her, they were extremely close from growing up together under such circumstances. I think Anna loved her in that way, but don't think Lucie felt the same.

Not sure what the 'love' between the two has to do with the film. what was your take on the ending?

close they are, why someone would help someone in such an extreme way, going through all they do in the film. Have to have strong feelings for someone to help like that. That's what I got and thought it was integral to the film, not just added in like some films do.
Spoiler:
Valid. Makes sense. 👆What did you think about the ending. What do you think Anna say to Mademoiselle?
I got the sense that Anna basically said something along the lines of that there is an afterlife, filled with things that are unimaginable, but since the Mademoiselle was such a piece of shit, she would never see it, and probably end up in an abyss.
or
That there is no afterlife, but if that was the case, Mademoissle would have not killed herself.
What was your take?

my take on the ending of Martyrs is that there is no afterlife so the old lady knew that living the rest of her life is a waste of time because there is nothing after life.
Spoiler:
thats what I thought, but i'm having trouble making sense of that.plus it seemed like Anna gave a long speech in that state.
edit: anyway, doesn't matter. great film
