Daredevil 2?!?

Kevin Feige has stated "there are many more stories to be told with old Hornhead and we'd love to tell them someday," with Avi Arad further adding that the sequel will begin development once the rights go from 20th Century Fox to Marvel Studios. Ben Affleck stated that he would never reprise the role, "By playing a superhero in Daredevil, I have inoculated myself from ever playing another superhero...Wearing a costume was a source of humiliation for me and something I wouldn't want to do again soon." Director Mark Steven Johnson showed interest in returning to direct with the Born Again storyline. Michael Clarke Duncan stated strong interest in returning. Johnson stated that the villain Mr. Fear is a possibility to appear for the sequel.

Recently, Jason Statham has expressed interest at appearing in a Daredevil sequel. Statham reportedly said, "Could a British actor wear the red horns of the Man Without Fear?… Absolutely, just give me the chance, I would love to be Daredevil." Frank Miller added, "I think he should be Daredevil too."

In October of 2008, 20th Century Fox executive Tom Rothman said that "a Daredevil reboot is something we are thinking very seriously about." Rothman added that "what it really needs is, it needs a visionary at the level that [The Dark Knight director] Chris Nolan was. It needs someone, it needs a director, honestly, who has a genuine vision."

Discussion:

What do you guys think? I am a really big Daredevil Fan, and was disappointed with Mark Steven Johnson's pisspoor depiction of the world of the Man Without Fear. Now that Marvel has retained the rights of all their superhero flicks, do you think that Daredevil can be done right? And what of Jason Statham as a possible candidate for Murdock?

I'm all about a DD reboot man. In fact, I thought I read recently on comics2film.com that is what they're thinking about doing.

The Transporter himself, Jason Statham is the leading candidate

i say do it. DD is an awesome character. it's a real shame to just let him die with affleck behind the mask..

Not excited about a Statham DD...

Good God. Jason Statham's bald, English and a terrible actor, and Frank Miller's support doesn't do much for his case either, considering Miller's spectacular fall from grace. But I'd be all for a new Daredevil film (though Mr Fear sucks- I want to see The Kingpin and Bullseye done properly- Colin Farrell was ****ing awful).

Statham would suck as Daredevil. Like you guys have said, I'm all for a reboot of the franchise, but I don't want it to be worse than the one we've got already.

I agree, hopefully a good actor and story will help if /when they do it

Imo Jason will do a better job than Ben did. Everyone in DD sucked, Colin was a good casting but the script sucked.

i agree...

though a daredevil reboot, if done well, would be worth it imo... the guy deserves a really good movie...

Hmm, I'm surprised that alot of you guys seem to be disappointed in the Statham possibility. Who do you guys think would make the best daredevil?

Val Kilmer ??

What the hell was good about Colin Farrell? He was awful. Michael Clark Duncan was alright though.

Farrell overacted with his time as bullseye.

Ha, I smell a Batman Begin/The Dark Knight rehash with a DD setting. Great...

They said not long after the first movie, they wanted to "start over" with Daredevil. And I don't want Frank Miller involved - he's stuck in his own style and can't get out of it. And Jason Statham has never shown he can change that accent for a role.

Should go with Val Kilmer he would be a good matt murdock imo but then again he might not want to play another superhero.

Daredevil 2? I damn well hope so.
Jason Statham? Hell no. The guy is a terrible actor. Have you heard his 'American' accent? 😘
