MY Poor Dog.
My dog has been acting really strange lately. A couple of weeks ago he had an episode. Started stumbling around and shaking, when I came up to touch him to see what was wrong, I discovered that he had a very tender abdomen. We immediately took him to the emergency veterinary clinic for a consultation. The vet did a prostate check and palpated the abdomen, said he couldn't find anything wrong. By this stage though he had more or less gotten back to normal, so he was asymptomatic, and all the vet had to go on was my explanation of the dog's behavior. He was fine again for a week and a half, then it happened again a couple days ago in the morning, he was shaking, and in visible pain. I gave him some pain killer orally as instructed by the vet. (His theory was abdominal muscular spasms). Then again this morning. I'm getting really worried as the frequency of the episodes is increasing, and In hate seeing my little bud in pain, it kills me. My mum's theory is that he may have some neurological problems causing these spasms, as the vet could find nothing wrong with him physically. We're taking him in for an X ray and bloods tomorrow. I'm nervous as all hell because I don't know what to expect. My parents and dog are the only family I have, and we've had him for the 11 years that we've been in Australia. He's a little dog though, so 11 isn't a huge age for him. Dogs like him usually live anywhere up to 20 yeas, averaging around 15. Anyway, I thought I'd shave, cuz I'm a little distraught. I hate it when sh*t like this happens. 🙁
