We debate these things online because often times the way things turn out in the comics don't go well with other things established in the canon. For instance, I can think of many occassions where Character A beats Character B yet for A to win, B had to have aspects of their power written out or had to be weakened. The same applies here. There is no way WWH should be able to beat Storm. To begin with, Storm can control the air in his lungs. She did this recently in X-Men: Worlds Apart issue 1. The guy could only breathe when she allowed him to because of this. While Hulk can hold his breath a long time, that is after he has filled his lungs with air. Storm can control that air in his lungs.

Then there are other things. The post with Lorna trying to absorb the gamma rays would be well beyond her abilities, but not Storm's. Ororo has controlled gamma rays on both a global scale and cosmic scale.

Then there is the whole thing about versatility. Hulk is a one-trick pony here while Storm has so many aspects to her powers. She could snow blind him to where he would be unable to find her and she can hit any way she wants. In the worst case scenerio, she bfr him easily. He has no counter for his as he has no realistic way of anchoring himself against her winds.

Storm alone is way too powerful and way too versatile for him. Adding the other women is a totally over the top on what is already an overkill pitting him against Ororo one on one.

Storm has the ability to control the temperature of matter much the way Iceman does. Probably better, since she taught him how to use his powers.

He's already tried to thunderclap her. She basically nullified it with her control over the air.

as far as the thread goes, i can't help but wonder, though... since when does some random guy = the hulk?

Hulk has no control over air. The fact that Storm can control the air in somebody's body makes her extra dangerous in other ways too. For instance, in X-Men issue 61, she pulled lightning out of the air around one of her foes. What's to stop her from doing this inside of Hulk? Heck, she would not have to do anything as vicious as that, she can stop the guy from breathing and there is absolutely nothing he can do about it. She can do this while snowblinding him so he cannot locate her.

the hulk is a completely different opponent. he's not some soldier with a gun, he's a walking WMD. even if she can control the air in his lungs, she's going to be able to manipulate it quick enough to KO him? that's alot of air to manipulate...

i would give the team the win, though...

That is a very small feat for Storm in terms of volume of air. This is a lady who can control the ecosystem on a continental scale twice, a hemisphere scale once and on a global scale too. So its not a lot of air for Storm.

That said, even if it takes him a minute or two to KO, she attacks faster with her elemental powers than he can get to her. Plus she's much more maneuverable with her flying ability and she can rob him of his vision at the same time in an instant. So he can run around blind until he's KO'd.

Hulk can hurt Storm which means he has a shot at winning, but her sheer raw power combined with their versatile nature and her awesome skill is too much for his one-trick pony power.

Storm outmatches Hulk by herself. Adding a team on her side is a super overkill.

I say WWH wins this.

Hulk has no problem survivng in the vacuum of space so storm trying to manipulate air wont work. Not to mention the hulk has resisted matter manipulation of his organs from the likes of the High evolutionary. Also id like to see an example of storm absorbing energy directly from a being that has an energy level comparable to hulk.

Hulk wins via thunderclap.( because of the sonic vibrations created, not because of the wind)

I don't think these guys could produce the kind of raw power it would take to drop Hulk look at the damage he took fighting Sentry

Now I'm pretty sure I don't have Alzheimer's, and I seem to remember WWH stomping all over nearly every member of the X-Men, and that leads me to believe he would stomp the crap out of this small team.
