My questions to Finti!

no they're not socialists and have never been, same as the Labour party in England is not.

shouldn't be talking so much, Leeds have sucked major this year馃檪. go Rovers!

Mah they were pure socilaist way into the late 70`s. I kind of lived under a father that were an active Ap`er. They were socialist allright not dark red like SV was but red(socilaist) They still have some socialist agendas but they are few now

Labour party in England IS socialist. Just because it does not conform to your narrow views of what socialism is does not mean it is not a socialist part.

It pretends to be socialist, yes. 馃槃

started out as one for sure, dont really know about the Labours, bu the Norwegian AP have moved towards the center

All big parties do that once they have a taste for power.

not in Holland it seems, there they go everywich way but the way they ought too

Oh yes they do. Even the LPF (the one founded by Fortuyn who was shot in May) is moving towards the centre again. The Socialist Party who was always very small is likely to get a lot of support. It's just that we get a lot of new parties, and they're all tending to the right wing.

had some turmoil in the Dutch politics this year though

Gonna have some turmoil at the next elections in January. New parties again, lots of fun.

sounds great.

You bet. I'm getting my Coke and crisps and enjoy the debates on TV! Sure beats Idols.

never seen that

The first few episodes with the big auditions are hilarious.

never gonna see it either

got ya Thomas , more like me then.....politically

Seeing that Labour raises taxes to spend on public projects, has brought in concepts like the minimum wage and the end of the hereditary principle of the Lords, spends its time on rights legislation for homosexuals and other minorities and has half re-nationalised the railways, and has links to nearly all the Unions who are still its major bankrollers I challenge anyone to tell me what they are if they are not socialists. They ARE socialists, but just like all others they have moved towards the centre because the left wing is no longer truly electable- it failed too much. No-one significant is interested in 100% public ownership of services any more.
