It's a movement, probably hasn't been best represented since the early 90's. There's a difference between "scene" and "emo" and what the kids nowadays think "emo" actually is.

But I do rather dislike this hairdo some females around here have that they fluff their hair up scene style. I doubt all that is healthy for natural human hair. My fiance pointed it out to me how it almost looks like a uniform for females to wear down here, haha!
