The governmet supposably controlls everything but they never do a good job. They also lie about most stuff, and somehow find ways of violating our constitutional rights. At least that's my crazy beleif 😕
What about you guys?

Yet people want to give them more power and control over their lives...crazy.

The government doesn't have a lot of control in America.

How does it not?

I mean, if you compare it to Nazi Germany, yeah, I guess, but the government still has major control over huge parts of its citizens life.

Are all schools, hospitals and retirement homes ran by the government?

A random question, answer is obviously "no", the government does have quite a bit of control though.

Annoying you'd even ask such an unrelated question.

does the government aggregate to itself the ability to tell you what it is you can and cannot do, regardless of context or consent of involved parties?

Na, they just have measures of control over your body, what you can and can't do with your children, what drugs you can and can't do, when you can or can't drive, what you can and can't do with your pets and/or livestock etc. etc. etc. Na. not much control at all.

If you doubt me, drive with an expired license, while high on cocaine and drunk on gin, with your (unbuckled) children in the car while dragging your dog, who's lease is tied to the car's bumper and do runover chickens, goats and other small farm animals. Oh, and attempt to kill yourself afterwards, it's important you fail and the authorities are aware you tried.

Edit: Forgot to include, 'what you eat', is becoming an issue lately.

or, sit quietly in a park, not disturbing anyone, and smoke a joint

Doesn't the buttsex counter the negatives though?

hey, I said enjoy it 🙂

Why even go that far, just don't pay taxes. Choose not to give any of YOUR money to the government, and see just how much control the government has over you.

So why did they to mention him at all? If he had nothing to with it, why did they immediately come out and say he had nothing to do with it?
Blagojevich is the Governor, and former Congressman from Illinois. Barack Obama has been involved in Illinois politics for about 10 years.

You know that someone's going to try and use that to discredit Obama. Don't play dumb.

"The" Government?

There are literally tens of thousands of governments. Nation-states, commonwealths, republics, dictatorships, grand duchies, sultanates, kingdoms, empires, and at the levels of federal, state, province, region, county, municipality, city, town, village, and even tribes.

Pray tell, which one are you referring to?

I think rather than forms of government he was referring to the Government of his homeland...perhaps the system or the incumbent administration but its fairly easy to discuss both simultaneously.

That was fairly evident from the context of his post...

Those two claims seem contradictory.

I can have total control over an ant farm, but still run it terribly.

Often.

Hmm, well Jean-Luc I don't know how I've given you reason to treat me so...

Possibly. But there are no clues in either his post or his profile about where he's from, so it's kind of hard to narrow your focus thusly.

His bit about constitutional rights to me indicated the USA...of course other nations have constitutions but given the fact that most members here are from the States and no one harps on about their constitution as Americans...

No one in America "harps" on the Constitution except Libertarians and Dennis Kucinich.

And the Constitution Party, I suppose.
