I am not sure what will happen with babara gordon, but hopefully something good

Although the first issue was pretty good and gave me hopes, the second one was atrocious, as far as characterization goes.

Then this interview appeared:

facepalm

And to think I actually had high hopes for this mini-series.

I just read that and was going to post it..

I am not concerned except for what may or may not happen to Jason Todd and of course Cassie Cain

I'm just tired of DC using the Jason Todd stuff again. Didn't we kill him for a reason?

And Damian Wayne is an atrocious abomination that shouldn't exist. Granted my choice of screenname proves me a partial judge to the boy's existence but I've always hated Talia, lol and her spoiled brat is no exception.

What was wrong with the second issue?

The only hope I have is that Winnick will write him after all of this is over, but even so, I don't know what he can do.

OK. That's definitely it. I'm waiting this shit out. I can live without any new Batman stuff for a couple of years.

He could have the whole "Make-them-a-better-hero" angle, and have Jason dedicate his time to trying to sway Dick to his way off thinking....or spin some BS about Jason's mind being in slow decline due to residual effects of sharing a lazarus bath with Ra's Al Ghul and then have a storyline that restores him to the magnificent bastard he once was....

But personally i'd rather he gets his own series.Or he stars in a team book.

Both Winnick and Morrison have said that they will use Jason. So at least we know he will definitley start in Batman and Batman & Robin.

I'd like Jason to get back to the Winnick era portrayal and nothing more. No "Let's make him a villain" (Tony Daniel) or "Let's make him have a change of heart" (Countdown). It's far easier to write the last two I mentioned, while writing it like Winnick did is a lot more complicated, but also a lot more interesting and challenging.

It's irritating really, how Tony Daniel practically butchers Jason's history. Shooting Damien, who is just a kid, when in his Winnick portrayal he threatened to kill those who would sell drugs to kids. Not to mention the fact that Damien is Talia's kid, the one to who he practically owes almost everything. He even says " "Think I'll be going wihle you save another meaningless life" ermm. Leaving Tim for dead, and laughing about it.

He was ruthless before, but against those who deserved it. Now he's like a deluded villain "HAHA I'M BATMAN ZE BEST !!". It's f*cking stupid.

Truth.

I have faith that Winnick will be able to rescusitate the character, but Morrison tends to find his own take and just roll with it....and frankly, most writers would take the morrison version over Winnicks,so I'm curious to see what direction he takes Jason in.

couldn't agree more.

i think the concept of batman was beginning to get a little stale and predictable. not in a bad way, mind you, just in the sense that villains knew he wasn't going to kill them. Jason as Batman is the best choice, imo. He's a bit of a morally ambiguous hero, one that will put the fear of batman back in to the hearts of the criminal element of gotham. so by the time bruce gets back, people will be so afraid of batman that he'll be able to do a much more effective job...

also, it only dawned on me the other day WHY bruce was writing on the cave walls. it was so people in the future would see the messages and come get him... double facepalm...

has anyone read the first two issues of Oracle?

I've read the issues.

I like the story even though it's not typical.
