Respect Supreme!

Started by Cartesian Doubt3 pages

Not trolling, but the only Supreme worth respecting is the one who existed during Moore's run. Moore himself stated that everyone might as well throw away everything else.

You are most certainly entitled to your own opinions regarding Supreme, whether they are negative or positive. But in the future, please keep those opinions out of this thread.

Thanks. 😊

Damn Cable is impressive stoned

^

I'll take that as a compliment. becky

Supreme meets 'God':

That's another Jack Kirby analogue isn't it?

Also Supreme rocks, it's like PCSuperman with an attempt to justify his powers.

Moores version, was basically what he would have done with Superman, if he hadn't fallen out with D.C. To be fair like its quite good, a lot better than Miracle man (which is seriously overrated), but not nearly as cool as Morison's All-star stuff, or JMS's supreme Power.

Should the Pitt battle be in Supreme's respect thread since Pitt almost killed him? Other than that nice thread. 😄

Supreme certainly wasn't at 'full power' when he battled Pitt (based on the plot of the story, as well as the other characters Supreme has beaten.)

😛

And thanks! becky

Thats true; Supreme was actually at "no power" or almost none.

He lost his powers in a fight with a magneto rip off due to having some kind of weakness against EMP based energies or something.

Didn't actually get them back until he switched bodies with another Supreme from a different time line.

Until then the only power he had was what he got from the hammer.

That black haired "Supreme" isn't actually Supreme at all, its Lady Supreme/Probe with amnesia having shape changed into the appearance of her brother who only thought she was Supreme when in reality she is his daughter.

Which kind of illustrates the problem to some extent when doing a Supreme respect thread, he was only around for a short period of time.

Lost his powers and went insane, than got replaced for I think almost half his series by an imposter of sorts and only gained his powers briefly again at the end by trading places with an alternate universes Supreme's body.

That bearded Supreme was also an alternate universe version of Supreme who appeared in a malibu/image crossover and showed up again in one of the later Supreme comics possesed by some evil entity I believed.

I remember there was a mini-series or two but I heard they had some continuity issues, not sure if they did or not but still it might be an issue and obviously that fight with Gladiator is a non-canon crossover where he exists in the same universe as the marvel characters and is kind of a blending of Supreme era's.

And that guy does kind of have a point; by not posting all the scans you are kind of cherry picking and making Supreme look better than he did in certain instances.

i miss this guy he was really cool.

So wait, he's fought Marvel, Image, and Valiant characters?

What continuity does this guy belong to?

Also it should be noted that Dr. Eclipse is really not on Solar's level, he beat a weakened Solar once by taking him by surprise but in the rematch Solar curbstomped him.

Although I would like to know what issues have the Supreme/Solar crossover story.

he was in image bro, i remember buying his comics when a was a teenage bro.

Yes but the scans also show him fighting Marvel and Valiant characters

Supreme started off as an Image character, during which time he appeared in a few Marvel and Valiant crossovers. When Moore took over as Supreme's writer at issue #41 of his solo series, he moved under the Maximum Press and Awesome Comics labels, respectively.

Even though it was a good fight, Supreme seemed to do a smidge better, imo.

Just what was his problem going after Gladiator like that, anyway? He was acting like a psycho.

I have that issue in hard cover.

Supreme thought Glads was a devil/demon whathaveyou.
Superme was worshipped as a "god" by the natives of that planet,
but this offended Supreme as he felt they were pagans for it.
So Supreme was killing the natives.

Glads was saving natives while fighting Supreme,
and was trying to get Supreme away from the natives.

They were stalemating, but Glads felt he needed to end the fight
or more destruction and innocent lives were at stake.

So Glads tricked Supreme into thinking he killed him,
thus Supreme went away.

The fight was much longer, there are more pages missing from what was posted.
