Sports Anime/Manga

I was looking around here and there does not seem to be much respond to the sports animes and mangas. Does anyone like these mangas because even though they have some rules like the sports obviously, there can be very similar to some fighting or battle mangas.

My favorites in the sports section are:

Eyeshield 21 (American Football)
Prince of Tennis (Tennis)
Hajime no Ippo (Boxing)
Beach Stars (Volleyball)
Mr. Fullswing (Baseball)
Whistle (Soccer)

What are some of yours??

I'm a big Prince of Tennis fan.

i tried getting into the prince of tennis anime, but i never really found it suspenseful

There hasn't been any anime/manga sports threads probably because they suck. I try watching Prince of Tennis but it always ended with the same result: I changed the channel in the middle of the show 😐

Whistle and Prince of Tennis are great. I also like Slam Dunk and Eyeshield 21.

I'm in the middle of Prince of Tennis, saw all of Whistle, and at the beginning of Slam Dunk and Eyeshield 21.

Right on. Kaidoh is awesome.

Though I like to watch Momo and Kaidoh in doubles more than Eiji and Oishi.

Yes! Excellent point! A buddy of mine like's Momo alot too - and we just so happened to be doubles partners on our high school team.

I like them all pretty much except Tezuka, Ryoma, and Oishi. Though Kaidoh is my favorite with Kikumaru a close second.

Who do you like from the other schools?

I kinda dig Kirihara

I liked Kirihara when he first shows up. And tries to be all cool and hit the tennis ball back and causes that domino effect. Don't care to much for him in the filler arc I'm at now.

For some reason I like Akutsu.

What, no Slam Dunk?
