"Believe it!" was put in the American dub to replace "Dattebayo!" but considering that was a pretty stupid and meaningless phrase to begin with, they could have just simply ignored it and made an instant improvement.
Bleach's problems stem from the fact that it's all style with little to no substance. The series has really nice art and cool character designs. The anime has nice fluid animation and music as well. The thing is, though... that's it. You can tell that the author of Bleach puts so much focus in making his characters look cool in every thing they do that he hardly puts any thought into the actually storytelling. The story in Bleach peaked at the end of the "Save Rukia" arc in Soul Society, so when Kubo tried to keep the story going, the best he could come up with was... repeating the same damn plot all over again, except switch Rukia and Orihime.
And let's not forget the mindless fight scenes where characters get to show just how badass they are by going back and forth and then unleashing their true power via Bankai or some other plot-device. Or where Ichigo gets to use his amazing battle strategy of "Move really fast and slash really hard."
Bleach is essentially eye-candy and little more.
Naruto pretty much peaked just before the time-skip. The pacing's been slow as molasses since then and all the secondary characters that people grew to love have been pushed aside so more attention could be focused on the super-cool new characters like Sai and Sasuke's new team!
What? you couldn't give a crap about these characters? Neither can I.
Then of course there’s the lame deaths left and right, the disappointing villains, and even more emo-ness than I can stomach. The story’s finally gotten interesting with the appearance of Sage Naruto, but at this point I’m really just waiting for the series to end already.
So to answer the question, Naruto's better right now, but not by much.
Fortunately, I still have One Piece which remains as awesome as it ever has and miles ahead of the other two. And Fairy Tail, which is currently far more entertaining than them as well. Hunter X Hunter would be another if the author of that didn’t go a damn hiatus every couple of months.
