Chun Li vs Ryu Hayabusa
The 'Strongest Woman on Earth' takes on the superninja of the Hayabusa Ninja Clan in a battle to the finish.
Chun Li has returned to working for the International Criminal Police Organization. Instead of returning as a field operative, she works as a combat and field analyst.
She also continues to train with Gen and his two charges, competing in various martial arts tournaments all over the globe.
Unfortunately, Chun Li has also found herself in the crosshairs of the Mugen Tenshin Clan, when she is attacked by a squad of Hajinmon ninja, who mistake Chun Li as a certain rouge nukenin.
After Chun Li mops the floor with the Hajinmon, Ayane appears. Eventhough her squad has made an error in attacking Chun Li, Ayane does not take lightly the fact that Chun Li had taken out five men without breaking a sweat.
In the ensuing match, Ayane soon suffers the same fate as her subordinates - a trip to the hospital.
Ryu Hayabusa had witnessed the battle while on his way to the curio shop, but does not interfere. With the destruction of the Vigoorian Emperor and of the Black Spider clan, not to mention the time between DOA tournaments, things have been boring.
Two weeks later, Ryu is on the next flight to Hong Kong.
Ryu finds Chun Li at the Genhanten, paying her respects to Gen. He first shows respect to Gen, the latter being a martial arts grandmaster, before turning to Chun Li. He tells her that eventhough he has ties to the Mugen Tenshin, he is not here for revenge. He is in Hong Kong to see if she can back up her self-proclaimed title.
Chun Li accepts the challenge. Three days later, at Fei Long's training grounds, the Wushu mistress and the Hayabusa superninja square off.
Each fighter is at their strongest.
