does majority of the people know that Darth Vader was once Anakin Skywalker?

or not? did Vader completely hide his past from everyone?

You mean in the movies? I dont think anyone knew that because it seems that both the Sith and the Jedi concealed that fact.

Yea: Bail, Yoda, Obi-wan, The clone troopers that helped Palps get him off the planet, and probably others.

hmm.....I would think at least Bail Organa would know his true identity. Perhaps if Palpatine and the emperor hid the fact that Vader was Anakin Skywalker, then it would have been easier for Luke to be convinced his father was dead in ANH.
