Yeah it's officially done

I can't believe a book like this got too few sales, when clearly, there is a strong support for this book. The sheer number of vocal fans, yet alone the ones who don't post on message boards is staggering.

Well it's ironic that Marvel says fans vote with their money, because they've just lost a vote or two from me.

I don't know why they even print comics without Wolverine and Rulk.

i think maybe marvel hoped that this would work out in the same order as the madrox mini led to the x-factor book. the wisdom mini was not only supremely entertaining, but it was thoughtful and complex and well-illustrated. and then they made it into a team book, but it just didn't translate how they wanted. i've personally been enjoying the book, though i wasn't interested much in blade or spitfire leading up to the dracula story.

disappointing to see it die.

Maybe Wolverine needs to join MI:13 just to get sales from his fanboys.

This proves my point, good writing < big sales. Crap like Wolverine and Loeb that make the sales will always beat good writing.

Whilst I agree with you, I've got nothing against those books. They aren't crushing the smaller books, it's just that the smaller books aren't getting enough sales.

I've recently been unimpressed with most of Loeb's stuff for example. His Ultimates was one of the most terrible comics I read and it destroyed my favourite title. However, I think with a book like Hulk, he's found his niche. It's not my cup of tea, but many like it and it sells well. I'm happy for Loeb and wish him all the best on that title (I'm also comforted by Millar's return to Ultimates, but that's off the point.)

Captain Britain and the MI:13 is only being cancelled because of sales, which is very disturbing seeing as there are sooo many supporters of it, myself included. I hope this is not the end, but we see one shots or mini series from the team. It makes you truly appreciate the sheer number of people who must comparatively, be picking up the books that are doing well.....

because marvel spent NO time promoting it or any of it's other books save for the 5 or so wolverine series hulk and spiderman, they never really gave it a chance

I don't know dude, it got a 5-6 page online teaser / preview almost every month, which is more than a lot of books get...

i think there were those one-page ads a couple months back, showing a picture of blade under the captain britain and mi:13 banner. and there are some now, albeit too late, with the vampire state teaser image of dracula.

Cornell, I raise my glass to you to.

A fitting end for a FANTASTIC book that ended long before its time. I would have enjoyed reading years worth of this book, but if it had to end- this is the way I would like it to.

Cheers to a wonderful book, ended early because the comics reading public didn't appreciate what they were getting.

I haven't bought the Vampire state storyline, but I'll still support sales by buying the trade.

There were some great moments over this series. Being English, we don't have as much of a reputation for being patriotic, especially when compared to our American cousins. However, even I appreciated the opening comments of the second issue, when Cap died. "When Captain America died, the Americans heard it in an American way: Through the media. When Captain Britain died, the British felt it in their chests."

I also cheered in the 4th issue when Cap was resurrected. There's just a highly charged scene where Cap bursts forth from the literal centre of the country, Wrapped in union Jacks. He even refers to the British reputation of moaning, but not moaning in what is called a stiff upper lip, by joining the final battle saying "We don't like to make a fuss."

Awesome series. ✅

this really does suck, maybe they can make this into a digital comic series like spidergirl, but I definitely would want to see this again, but with it ending I doubt we'll see any of the characters for a while...other than black knight who is set to appear in the punisher

Most fans on message boards do not buy comics they dl them. They are hardly fans at all. In fact they are the reason books are cancelled as they are often thieves.

Often Marvel's sales don't accommodate trades as trades come out months after a completed story arc. Which is a shame, because, as just stated, trades sell really well and therefore go great lengths to supporting the industry.

Plus I prefer a trade on my shelf to the single issues. As annoying as it is (Vampire state is one of the trades I'm most looking forward to buying along with Old Man Logan) it's well worth the wait, especially considering a lot of writers write to accommodate the trade format these days. 🙂
