Sorry mate, I gotta disagree... Vega's fast, real fast, but Ryu's reaction times, greater physical strength, range, experience, and better discipline break Vega's advantage like a house of cards. He has no way of even hitting a serious Ryu without getting mauled. Ryu keeps him at a distance and blasts him... or if Vega tries to close in, he cops a bashing from a Shoryuken that shatters claw & mask alike.

These are the same reasons he falls to terry as well... Vega doesn't have powerful defence breakers, nor projectile nullifiers, plus his best moves leave him very open....
