I mean, seriously: gay characters in comics? You have like... Vibe, Northstar... and I can't think of any others. Lesbians have Batwoman, whose pretty cool. If you were a gay comics character, you'd luck out to be with Apollo.

I say the Tardis from Dr. Who! Although, it, technically, is much bigger than an airplane...at least on the inside anyway.

He might not be a "superhero" per se, but he did have a comic and has saved the earth as often as any superhero has.
