Combat and leveling wise its not. Go and play KotOR and Jade Empire.
There is no one system for combat or leveling for RPGs.

Try again.

As for the what now comment, that was still directed towards ME2, concerning the fact that you and I were discussing the first games elements. I was not linking it towards the first one per say.

Is turn based not widely considered the RPG style combat?
😉

Only in JRPGs.

No, no, no I said RPG. None of that East versus West stuff.

What?
Turn-based is considered the main combat style for JRPGs, not for normal RPGs.

I can't actually name one Western RPG with turn-based combat.

Let me do my research.... but KotOR 1 and 2 are for starters

No, try again.

And regardless, there is no specific combat-type for RPGs.

Nope, they are not.

Yes, yes they are real time/TURN BASED. Lord of The Rings The Thrd Age is turn based too.

How can they be turn based if people don't take turns when fighting?

When they do. duroll

Melee combat is turn based in kotor.

Don't play like a fool, Bioware has openly admitted KotOR was there first console RPG.

Let me quote you:

I believe my post was about Mass Effect Two, since this is the thread. Bioware games are periodically becoming less and less RPG like, a devolution if you will.....
It is undeniable that Mass Effect is the least RPG like game Bioware has released for the consoles.

Least RPG like game? No. MDX is a game... on consoles and not an RPG at all. If you had said least RPG like RPG then perhaps, through a certain point of view you are correct.

Kotor 1 and 2 are turnbased. It's just a veiled turn based. Infact in KOTOR 2 (can't remember if you can do this in 1) you can set up the combat to pause after every turn.

LEAKED GAMEPLAY!!!

I wonder if the last cut scene took place in the citadel or planet earth

Could be Omega, or some place that hasn't been in the Mass Effect stories yet.

You know what I meant, don't play stupid, all it does is weaken your argument. Obviously we were discussing Bioware's RPGs. KotOR is considered the beginning of their console RPG's, it would so appear that Bioware's games have began a de-evolution in an attempt to cater to the mainstream since....

Right here, I said "less and less RPG like", now why would I compare a complete non RPG and say it is not RPG like, let alone say its less than one. Clearly to state something is less than something I would have to start with something that had something to be less of. Use your head son!!!

So from what I can guess in the trailer, Shepard doesn't have any armor on? It's just strange that his/her armor is found covered in blood. A lot of theories are going around the Bioware forums saying that Shepard has been "Gethified." How he/she is even a geth is that his/her brain got moved. I call BS on this theory and if this is even true, the fans are gonna freak and break their discs in two. I'm on the convinced side that Shepard isnt dead, it's just that I wonder why the armor is covered in blood. It just seems a little odd.
