I've only seen the Lundgren and Tom Jane versions, and both would give McClane a hell of a time. Location,location,location. If it's in the Nakatomi building, it's a free for all. If it's at Dulles Airport, all right McClane(Seriously, that guy is one lucky bastard). DHWAV? McClane gets owned without Zeus to back him up. LFODH? McClane. Frank Castle is smart enough to choose a location that is his strong suit though. "Fly in the ointment" this!

McClane is a one man army, you must be thinking of buddy-cop films like Lethal Weapon, where the antagonist needs his better-half to constantly save him from the antics they get in.
