Onslaught can produce an attack that is equivalent of a carrier + Thor strikes.
That was to much for Void and he had to regress back to Bob. Void didn't just chose to become Bob to put up a better fight.

Void probably still wanted to recharge otherwise there would have been no point for Void to return as Bob to begin with.

void has the most ridiculous regeneration. Physical attack do hurt him but he regenerated all damage instantly.

So void wanted to revert back. Great logic. It makes sense why do you think Sentry reverted back to Bob in his fight with WWH. Just because he wanted to.
